INTRODUCTION
An idea of global citizenship
Global citizenship nurtures personal respects and respects for others, wherever they live.
It includes the encouragement of an individual to think about what is equitable and what will
minimise harm to the planet. The global citizenship is the idea that includes all people have
rights and civic responsibilities that come with being a member of the world. It is a 21st century
approach consisted of some principles of global responsibilities which are required by every
nation (Jooste and Heleta, 2017). A person or an individual known as global citizen who is
aware of their own role as a world citizen, respects and valued diversity , have quite
understanding about the workings of the world, take part in the gathering at a range of levels,
from the local to the global and is willing to form world more even-handed and sustainable
place. The effective global citizens must have the qualities like flexible, pro-active and creative.
They are those people who are having ability to solve decisions , make decisions, think critically
communicate their ideas and work well in teams and groups.
Need for the education of global citizenship is not an additional subjects . It is a
framework apart from school to the bigger community. It can be make it learn in class with the
existing curriculum or including new initiatives and activities (Torres, 2017). The active,
democratic methods of Teaching for Global Citizenship and Sustainable Development assist
youth to acquire a knowledge of how decisions are made by people in different surroundings of
the world provide an affect our lives, just as our decisions affect the lives of others.
