INTRODUCTION
Good managers need to make the right decisions and ensure the business is able to exploit
any opportunities open to it. At the same time, good managers protect the business by
anticipating and acting against any threats to its welfare. Good managers are provides with
various type of skills that helps them in achieving the set target. They help the firm in achieving
their goals and objectives. Present report will lay emphasis on Tesco. It is one of the largest retail
firms in Britain who are engaged in selling the groceries. Report will lay emphasis on Analyzing
and explaining different philosophical approaches to research and how different epistemological
perspectives may lead to the use of different methodologies.
Background
The main purpose the study is to analyse the importance of good managers in an
organization. It has been analysed that good managers are really required for the development
and productivity aspects of the firm (Andersen and Nationalbank, 2018). They have various
skills that are been required by the organization so that they can grow. Good managers are
innovative and creative, they are been engaged in finding out the ultimate solutions to the
problems that is being faced by firm. There are also various attributes of good managers such as
they are honest, empathetic, passionate, and confident. Good managers are also engaged in
motivating the employees to perform certain tasks which are really necessary for the growth of
firm. They are also engaged in enhancing the level of consumers by providing them with high
quality of products and services.

Significance
Good manager is really important for the success of organization. They are engaged in
enhancing the skills and abilities of workers so that objectives of firm increase. Good managers
are also been involved in bringing out the ultimate solutions to the problems that has been faced
by firm (Virine and Trumper, 2016). They set the standards for the employees and provide the
employees with clear examples about what they need to strive for. Good managers are highly
passionate and confidence towards their work. These are the people who are also involved in
taking feedback from the employees, so that they can bring changes in the management policy if
required. This kind of attitude helps organization in increasing their productivity as well as
operational efficiency. It also assists in increasing the trust and satisfaction level of employee
that is really necessary for the growth of firm.

Theme 1: Benefits of having good managers in firm
In the context of importance of benefits of having a good manager, Notta and Vlachvei,
(2017) stated that a good manager become the main key of the success and accomplishment of
all pre-determined goals of organization. One of the reason is, a good manager of an organization
believes in team working and cooperation. He believes that with proper guidance to employees
he can motivate them and can get success. He does not only guides employees but also work
with them in order to make them feel valued and motivated.
In addition, Elvekrok and et.al., (2018) stated that a good manager never tired as he often
tries to solve disputes and employees queries in a timely manner and this attitude and efforts of a
good manager increase productivity of an organization. A good manager helps his company in
development, expansion, attracting customers to the great extent and taking competitive
advantages.
Theme 2: Attributes and characteristics of good managers
Every organization has manager but only few of them can be a good manager. There are
some qualities and attributes are identified which makes a manager effective and good. As per
the Raza and Zainab, (2019) having an effective communication and decision making skills
make a manager effective and good. With the help of communication skill, manager tries to
listen to employees and all stakeholders which help them out in identifying the situation as well
