Other than this, self regulation is also considered to be significant competitive reasons as this will reflect the importance in the changing and ambiguity of business nature today. The leaders or individual that have regulated or manage their emotions are
found to be more stagnant at the time of change and innovation, which has become part of business today due to technological transformation(Goleman, 1998). Anotherinterestingtopicthathasbeenconsideredforthediscussioninthearticleincludes understanding if the emotional intelligence can be learned or not. One of the most common debate topics is if the leaders are made or born, on which various theories have also been propounded in the decades before. This topic was concluded by Daniel through reflecting the significance of emphasizing emotional intelligence in organizational approach that may not found to be sufficient through a seminar. The steps taken by the leader and organization to control the emotions as and learn emotional intelligence is significant which makes enthusiasm as one of the major tool to be used for retain this learning(Goleman, 1998).
B. Self emotional IQ From the article there have been majorly five components identified that reflects the level of emotional intelligence or emotional IQ of an individual. Thus among the five, the three component that I feel are strong and can be considered to be my strength are self awareness, motivation, and empathy. However the aspects that I feel that I must work towards improvement are self regulation and social skills. The reason being I am quite aware about my nature, actions taken, emotions. Moreover, I found myself as a person who empathise to others and understand others emotions by not sympathising but keep my foot in their shoes to understand their feeling. However, one this that I feel this component is tends to be weaker as per my SWOT analysis, as I am not able to balance the empathy towards others which reflect need for improvement in self regulation. Other than this, the area for improvement is through social skills, it is convenient to feel pain and emotions of others, but it is also important to reflect the same. Thus, it has been identified that it is important to learn the social skills and improve them as well.
