Comparison between two methodological approaches of research
This essay relates to the different approaches of methodologies used in the research that is based
on the qualitative as well as quantitative study. All the aspects of the essay run around the
qualitative approaches and quantitative approaches. The research is based on the problem of
obesity and increasing obesity among people. The two-research report needs to be compared in
this essay that includes the description of the research topic that is increasing in obesity. One
research is based on the qualitative study and the other one is based on the quantitative study
(Power and Grendon, 2015). Research methods are used to find valid and accurate results based
on the topic. The methods include different procedures and process that give different
observations related to the specific topic. The research study is of two types which include
qualitative study and quantitative study.
The research methods mainly include qualitative study and quantitative study. The qualitative
research is multimethod in focus, it involves the interpretive, naturalistic approach related to its
subject. Quantitative data relates to the information about the quantities and numbers whereas
qualitative data is descriptive. In a qualitative study, the data has been collected by observation
and interviews (De Ona and de Ona, 2015). In a quantitative study, data are collected by
measuring things differently. This essay includes two research studies based on obesity among
people. The comparison between the qualitative and quantitative study will take place. The
traditions of qualitative and quantitative research are different (Kaiser, et al., 2015). The
traditions of qualitative research include narrative and grounded theory. The research traditions
define the process of quantification.
The public health research is different in different nature. Research methods for public health
give an in-depth introduction to the theories, concepts, approaches and practices. The
information related to the public-health research includes the socio-ecological model. The
qualitative and quantitative of both pieces of research are used in public health research. All the
primary research methods and mixed methods research are used in analyzing public health. The
different approaches and ethics are used in the research to analyse the study properly (Tong, et
al., 2012). The qualitative research methodologies include the description of the quality research
based on the increase in obesity. The quantitative research study includes a descriptive paper that
describes the review of authors based on the increase in obesity.

The qualitative study includes the experiences of the patients regarding the prescribed anti-
obesity drugs. This study needs to understand the lifestyle changes of the people that increase
obesity among people. The qualitative design includes the semi-structured interviews that define
the overall concept regarding the anti-obesity drugs used in the overall process of public-health.
In the interview, the different aspects are included related to the drugs that include the answers to
the interview questions by the common people who suffered from obesity. The participants are
related to the health centre. Participants who give their views on the research questions are
selected by using three general practices among diverse populations as per the sampling method.
Participants give various views regarding the anti-obesity drugs (Ingham-Broomfield, 2015).
For this purpose, the knowledge of changes in lifestyle is highly required that defines the overall
process of the research topic. The findings of this qualitative study help the patients in weight
loss (Psarou and Brown, 2010). The participants selected in sampling needs to have a proper
understanding of the health concerns of obesity. The various information points provide proper
support in primary care. This study is much more reliable in giving the results regarding the
patient's obesity and help them in weight loss. The qualitative study is responsible for giving
valid results regarding the particular topic.
Where the quantitative study includes reviews of the different authors regarding the specific
topic. The patient's obesity is a common problem that gives brief research based on the research
topic (Bekhet and Zauzniewski, 2012). The qualitative study also includes a deep study
regarding the increase in obesity. The quantitative research of this public health includes the
study conducted for the analyzing of the topic. The research report includes the quantitative
study gives a brief description regarding the weight loss that controls obesity among the people.
The author reviews regarding weight management help in understanding public-health research.
In the process of quantitative study, randomization was performed along with the use of a
telephone that has a sensor (Sargeant, 2012). The description of the patients affects the overall
process. The quantitative study is responsible to give the valid results of the topic and help them
in understanding the different process of the research. As per the qualitative, quantitative study is
more reliable.

This research gives the proper analysis of the patient's obesity and it includes the view of the
authors that discussed obesity among patients. The randomization included in the brief study that
helps in analysing the number of patients suffered from obesity. The statistical analysis and
results included in the quantitative study based on obesity among the patients (Hoe and Hoare,
2012). The number of 3731 patients are selected for analysing the randomization process to
determine the obesity among the patients. The various analysis and controls are included in the
quantitative study. So, as compared to the qualitative study quantitative study is more
responsible for the better and valid results. This study includes the Liraglutide treatment that
reduces obesity among patients (Pi-Sunyer, et al., 2015). The description of Liraglutide is the
most relevant part to analyse the factors to reduce obesity in patients. The treatment of obesity is
included in this research and it describes the various factors of obesity. It has bee analyzed that
the qualitative study is more responsible to give valid results.
