Introduction to topic area
Type 2 diabetes is considered as serious health issue. It can also result in critical health
consequences. Thus, it has been stated that in 2019 there were approx. 463 million people
who are suffering from type 2 diabetes and this number is rising.
Along with it, there are approx. 374 million people who are at risk of developing type 2
diabetes. Thus, it has been analysed that almost 90% of patient who suffer from diabetes
are type 2 one.
Summary of previous related research
It is summarised that most common alternative medicines used for the treatment of type II
diabetes are chiropractic rate.
The chiropractic rate is alternative treatment that involve hands-on spinal manipulation and
it is considered that appropriate alignment musculoskeletal structure of body enables body
to heal and does not require surgery and medication and acupuncture.

What does student project add to the literature of diabetes
This project will benefit in increasing knowledge on type 2 diabetes. Also, it will help in
developing academic knowledge of how to reduce risk of type 2 diabetes. Besides, it will
show how beneficial is CAM in treating type 2 diabetes.
