4.1 Discussion about the role of early year practitioner while promoting child development in the
following aspect-
In the development of children, early year practitioner plays a very crucial role because at
initial level practitioner supports to children’s in develop their mental as well as physical level.
Early year practitioners are those person who observe everything in the children and treat with
them in such manner so as their mental as well as physical level can being improved.
Cognitive development- Cognitive development refers to the study in neuroscience and
psychology focusing on children development in aspect of language learning, brain development,
conceptual resources etc (Elliott and et.al., 2015). In the children development, early year
practitioner have major role because only they are person who observe and analyse each
activities of children and treat them in such manner so as their physical and mental level can
improve. There is a huge significance of early year practitioner in monitoring progress and
growth of children with their setting and against the early learning goals. In this activity,
practitioner provides the training and teaching to children related to their basic activities for
example, putting on their. In this cognitive development, practitioner treats with children in such
manner so as they can able to improve their learning skill and mental ability. In this aspect,
practitioner can conduct the activities of role play, dressing up etc through which children can
dress their wear themselves. This activity can help to child in becoming more active.
Speech, language and communication development- At the time of speech, language and
communication development of children, early year practitioner plays a very significant role.
They are those person who set the target and monitor the progress and performance of children
against target gaol of their development. While 0-5 year children learn then they have duty to
measure their performance (Haarhoff, Thwaites and Bennett‐Levy, 2015). They work with
children and recognise the Childs current understanding and achievements and know what the
child’s next steps could be. They helps to children’s in achieve something new and help them to
learn. In order to learn new language, speak and communication development. Early year
practitioner have major role to teach about words, sentences and languages. They helps them in
knowing different words and language and monitor their ability to learn something new.
Physical development- Physical development provides children with the abilities they need to
explore their surrounding and make those connections with the world around them. At the period
of physical development, early year practitioner have major role by which they can measure the

physical activities, power and ability to work .In this aspect, proper nutrition’s and minerals are
very important in the food of children. Thus it is great duty to practitioner to give proper diet and
food to children so as they can improve their physic in effective and efficient manner. In addition
to this, physical exercise is also very important in development of children in physical manner so
early year practitioner should provide guidance to physical exercise to children’s.
Social and emotional development- In this aspect, childrens emotional activities can
consider such as their anger, love, coordination with other etc. By measuring these
activities of children, early year practitioner can measure and monitor the growth and
development of children in 0 to 5 year.
4.2 Evaluation of the role of the early years practitioner in supporting children's holistic
development
Holistic development consists with progress in mind, physical, spiritual, emotional and
social. Each child have their own personality, strength, and intrinsic talents. Thus holistic
development is that practical approach to comprehensive learning system under which physical,
social, emotional, mind, spiritual growth of children can consider (Albion and et.al., 2015). With
concerning of physical, social, emotional development of children early year practitioner have
significant role because only they measure and monitor the performance and growth of
children’s. In the holistic development entire growth of children included such as physical,
emotional, social, mental etc. Thus it is very important for practitioner to teach children
according to their capability. They should measure the performance and deliver services
accordingly. Early year practitioner provide service, care and teaching to children according to
their capability, likes and dislikes. They manage the performance of child’s and create
environment according to their needs. They provide such learning practices to them through
which they mental and physical development can increase in excellent manner.
Observation- Observation is major role of the early year practitioner through which he/she
can easily analyse and assess the activities, feeling of the children .This observation assist to the
practitioner in improving the ability of children by measuring their current performance.
Planning- Planning is another major role of the early year practitioner by which he/she can
develop the planning for further improvement and development among the children.

In order to deliver care services, treatment and teaching to children early year practitioner
play a very crucial role because they are those person who measure, monitor and evaluate the
growth and performance of children’s. In order to enhance the learning and development,
working in partnership is very important by which practitioner can give their best contribution to
teach the children (File and et.al., 2015). The major issue and task related to children growth and
development can easily resolve while they work in the partnership. While practitioner working in
partnership they can effectively teach and monitor children’s so as they can effective develop
their personality. On the other hand if children’s work in partnership they can learn something
new with other children. While they learn and play together then they can face several task and
challenges which they can solve in collective manner. Working in partnership helps to pass on
information about child. It easier to share idea about their child development. With help of
working in partnership, parents and teacher can easily understand the actual need of the
improvement and development among the children. Its encourage active participation from the
parents and it aids in build strong relationship with the parents.

In the children development parent have major role because only they are person who touch with their children
in every time so they can analyse and measure their performance and growth in effective and efficient manner.
In the growth and development of children , parent and car worker have crucial role because they teach
children in several aspect so as their physical as well as mental level can improve.
