Learning Pathway Rationale
I have carried out the planning for QINGLU Ltd. regarding the project that is related to
opening of new Chinese hot pot restaurant in London. In the process of planning, I have gained
huge experience that would assist me in future course of time. In accordance with my point of
view, the role of business strategy is considered as one of the essential stages in business
planning. In order to start business plan, there is greater need to develop overall vision and from
that, mission is developed. Further, the creation of specific goals is done so that direction of the
new business can be set in the particular manner. When I was planning to start up new Chinese
hot pot restaurant in London, I have faced major trouble in determining the goals as these are
needed to be in accordance with the economic situations that are prevailing in the market. From
my experience of planning, I have gained insight to design the new concern under negative
situations. This presents that firm will go on for long haul and enables it to resist recession as
well as economic downturns.
Along with this, my willingness to learn certain profound knowledge related with
business management that focuses majorly on business strategy has assisted me in carrying out
planning of concern in an effective manner. From my experience, I have thoroughly understood
the principles relating to process as it is my belief that following the guidelines has increased my
chances of winning. Earlier, I used to work in my parent business as a director. But, recently I
have started to plan my own business that is to open new Chinese hot pot restaurant in London.
My study has helped me in creation of plan to a greater extent. My skills related with business
management have assisted me to a greater extent. From the planning experience, I have learned
several managerial skills. This is related with determination of series of activities that are
required to be developed for the successful accomplishment of business layout. In addition to
this, I have designed schedules so as that time duration for the completion of different planning
activities with reasonable time duration can be ensured.
As there is presence of huge competition in the market of London in relation with
restaurant runner so, I had carried out huge market research. This has helped in knowing the taste
and preferences of customers in London. With this, development of plan was carried out with
greater ease. In addition to this, such has enhanced my ability to carry out investigation of

several markets in an effective manner. Success of the plan to a greater extent depends on the
market research. Thus, I paid huge attention in carrying out investigation with the aim to win.
My analytical skills have also enhanced significantly. This is because through application of

China's took off. Further, my parents ran a successful footwear manufacturing company. At the
age 12, my parents planned to send me at Britain's high school and there I studied at Sherborne
International College School in UK for the first year. Later, I went to Kent College from 2007 to
2012. Studying in British school had influenced me to a greater extent. This is in terms that it not
only helped me in learning British culture but also in gaining knowledge regarding various fields
such as business management.
I came back to China after my graduation from high school and started to work in one of
my parent’s branch companies as a director. Gaining three years of experience at particular
position has assisted me in learning about operations of firm. It has resulted in making me an
enthusiastic and determined participant of firm. I have also gained knowledge of certain effective
organizational skills along with the potential to make appropriate presentations. My attitude
towards operations of firm became more mature. I like to carry out challenging tasks that ensure
professional development and growth. Moreover, flexibility has been developed within me to
tackle variety of tasks and abilities to learn new ones. The experience from managerial activity
made me learn qualities of businessman such as flexible, entrepreneurial, self motivated,
hardworking, loyal, supportive and working in teams. The developed communication skills have
offered me opportunity to attain organizational and personal targets. I have gained knowledge

operational issues. Most importantly, I have understood that sound director needs to be renowned
and must contribute to team work. I have potential to have effective conversation with other

I have also gained the habit of reading books on psychology and skills associated with carrying

quarreling. I used to think about this incident at times and felt uncomfortable of it due to the
reason that it was something’s which I was trying to avoid. This had a negative impact on
working experience at parent's company that is valued by me. The major thing that bothered me
was that my mind was troubled with this incident. I thought of such experience a number of
times bat could not get positive outcome from my retrospection. In contrast to this, I got in touch

department made certain negative comment on my suggestion. He demonstrated my proposal as
an unprofessional idea that would only cost a lot to business without attaining positive outcomes.
I have known Mr. A from long time as a fact that he was amongst one of the founding member
of parent's company. Though I have given certain respect when he deserved but I have viewed
bit of his unhappiness with my work as I became director. Several times he criticized my work
badly and never demonstrated appreciation that was expected. It was determined by me that he
was not happy with my appearance at work. While I also heard that he was unsatisfied due to his
slow promotion in the organization. While carrying out important meeting he criticized my view
and at this I firmly stand out to defense my proposal. This has resulted in quarrel that was
stopped by several members of staff. It was the incident that has strongly influenced me. I was
very disturbed due to this.
Through analysis of my personal ability regarding dealing with other people, I believe
that there is lack of competence in me as I quarreled with senior manager. My belief in carrying
out the work effectively and doing things with colleges was in doubt. By making use of Rock's
model I realized that my response to criticism of Mr. A was biased. I did not consider it with
good intention rather I took it as challenge to my ability so as propose meaningful plan. I
believed that my ability to predict the development has been challenged. With this experience I
felt annoyed and frustrated by Mr. A doubt regarding my ability that I thought has been done
with purpose. This has resulted in creating misunderstanding of his intention to assist the
organization. It becomes difficult to work with the individual that do not have trust and does not
possess belief. The feeling of misunderstanding as well as frustration would last for longer term

and develops feeling that relates with threatening of status continuously. There are certain people
to tries to avoid communication with such subordinates and colleagues. But this negatively
affects the work to a greater extent. A better solution to this can be in relation to reflecting the
problem critically and raising the question on earlier assumptions. After the reflection of the
incident which was occurred between me and Mr A with the tool such as Rock's Scarf model I
realized that the major reason due to which I became angry on Mr A comment is due to the
reason that I felt that my status is being threaten. If I would have been more subjective and put
down my assumption of his ill purpose and regard his criticism as his intention to keep
operations of firm on right track I might feel much comfortable and happy to take into account
his views in positive manner.
