INTRODUCTIONTotal quality management (TQM) describes a management approach to long-term success through customer satisfaction. Report is based upon the case study of Cook Meat division. This report highlights the activity which can be performed by the director before introducing new distribution system and also what can Director do now. MAIN BODY Q1 What should Director have done differently before introducing the new distribution system As per the case study, New cooked director has taken help of new and updated distribution system to provide the best quality of product to customer, but customer has not accepted the change very comfortably as they find that the taste of food was not as good as compare to past. After going through case study it has observed that decision taken by the Director was not properly planned and was also taken without any backup plan. Director should followed proper process before making decision. Identify the decision:This stage was followed by the Director as director identified that company needs to provide the fresh food to consumer because earlier the food provided by organization is unhealthy and also affects health of consumer. Gather Relevant Information:Director shouldgather information beforehand itself about what will happen if the decision will not be accepted by consumer in the market and what will be the impact of same on the performance of an organization. Identify Alternative:In this stage director should have selected variety of the decision which may have taken byThe Cooked Meat Divisionto solve the problem of organization (Lin& Zhang,2019). Their were manyoptions which was in front of the director i.e. to open more branches to manufacture good in different location of the Canada or may have opt to improve the quality of product in such a way that food last for more day as compare to past. Weigh the evidence:It is the next stage of decision-making in which director should imagined what it would be like if he carried out each of the alternatives to the end. This would help the director in understanding all the alternative very easily. Choose among the Alternative:It is the stage where decision maker decides what is the best alternative available for organization to solve problem so that decision taken is accepted by all consumer and also it does not have any negative impact on performance of organization (Kumar & Sharma 2018). Director may also take decision on the basis of information which was gather at the above stages. 3
Take Action:It is the stage wheredecision is implemented in organization in such a way that decision is accepted by all the stakeholder in positive way. Review your decision:Director must have reviewed the decision at initial stage itself, so that the alternative plan may be drawn by The Cooked Meat Division to over come the issue. Q2 What Should he do now? There are many Alternative which is in front of the Director to find out better solution for the problem which is faced by an organization. Director can adopt the different TQM theory to improve the Quality of organization product. 8 Principle of TQM theory is as follow: Customer Requirement:The Cooked Meat Divisionhas to conduct different survey and market research program to understand what is required by customer in market and on basis of the information gatherThe Cooked Meat Divisioncan develop the product which can satisfy need of the customer. This will help organization in gaining the trust of customer back. Total employee involvement:Director has to make sure that all the employee in organization used to work with the common motive of achieving organizational goal. Director also has to make sure that all the employee are motivated inThe Cooked Meat Divisionas they are the one who are most uncertain at time of change. Process Centred:Director also has to make sure that all the step or activity which is performed inThe Cooked Meat Divisionis performed on process based (Syduzzaman & et.al., 2016). Activity are divided into different stage and after that the activity is performed in organization. Integrated System:Director has to make sure that all process of organization is interconnected with each other and all process should be performed with the sole motive of improving quality of product. Strategic and Systematic Approach:Director has to make sure that all the activity which is taken place in organization is done on basis of the proper strategic plan. Continuesimprovement:DirectorhastomakesurethatTheCookedMeatDivision continuously look for improvement by observing internal and external environment on continues basis.
