INTRODUCTION
Tourism consider as an essential part for various countries and areas, because through
this vast amount of income is earned through good as well as services which are consumed by
tourists or peoples. Government levied taxes on business activities which are conducted under
tourism sector creates chance or possibilities for occupation as well as economic advancement by
working in the industry (Guerrón, 2015). Tourism is the leader in production of new jobs.
Moreover, tourism industry highly benefits the growth of commercial activities which creates
demand for several other industry. This report is going to determine trends of tourism at former
half of 20th period of time.

Under tourism sector there are several trends which are required to be followed in order
to effectively carry out the operation of this industry. However, tourism sector is one of the most
essential sector within an economy because vast amount of income benefits are attained through
this sector (Huebner, 2015). Following are the several articles which related to the trends which
were followed under 20th century:

is because people have large wage increase as well as holiday package have become quite
affordable in nature. In developing company, the spending power of individual usually is high.
Presently, tourism have become a part of daily lifestyle this because the major source of income
for many individual comes from tourism. Through tourism, several employment opportunities all
around the world is created. Moreover, this growth of tourism industry is shown due increasing
mobility, proper wealth generation, more leisure time, improvement in transport and
accessibility, advanced technology adoption, and several other factors. Furthermore, through
tourism wealth is generated for a particular country. These are the essential tendency that are
followed in latter half of 20th period of time.
As per the views of Daniel Scott and Stefan Gossling, 2017 over past few years’ tourism
industry have shown an enormous growth in several sectors on grounds of global, economic,
social as well as on environmental factors significantly (What could the next 40 years hold for

global tourism? 2017). This report or article basically involves retrospective overview of massive
expansion which primarily includes the exact geography of international as well as domestic
tourism. Moreover, the expansion of tourism sector is highly influenced by social, economic,
technological, and political dimensions. International tourism under 20th century became one of
the largest global economic sector that significantly contributed to many local as well as
international economies. However, in order to identify the growth of tourism sector, scale of
international tourist arrivals was effectively analysed. It was estimated in 1970 that there were
165.8 million international tourist arrivals has compared to 1960 when it was 69.3 million only.
This vast increase in growth of tourism industry was to due adopting of several factors which
encourages people.
As per the view of John K. 2019 Walton tourism is basically a process under which an
individual usually spend time away from his/her home in order to energise themselves (Tourism,
2019). This is actually one to gain recreation, relaxation as well as pleasure. Tourism, according
to Walton is a product of modern arrangement which began in 17th century under Western
Europe. Furthermore, tourism is overlap with several other activities, processes and interest
which includes pilgrimage and several other places. Tourism in latter half of 20th century became
even bigger business internationally because of air travel (Last and et.al., 2016). Moreover, the
airborne package tour to sunny coastal destinations in 20th century became the basis due to which
enormous annual migration from northern Europe to Mediterranean. These packages usually lead
to development of road, sea, older rail and several other areas.

holiday camps also provided the working class to explore several parts of the world for the very
first time. Tourism industry was highly interrupted by two world wars but several attempts were
made in order to improve the weak areas (Mason, 2015). Moreover, improvements were made
under transport technology which increased the car ownership as well as better air travel.
Through these improvement attempts the rate of tourism was improved.

tourism industry as one of fastest growing economic sector in the world. The demand for travel

time availability as well as increase in paid holidays, income of tourist. This shift is basically due
to the development of inclusive tours and air transportation.

transport as well as communication facilities. Air transportation have significantly help the
tourism sector to enormously grow. Moreover, under Asia Pacific region the grow of air
transportation was at peak and this region became the boom area for tourism in the year 2001.
However, this trend does not affect the economic recession but this was reduced by threat of
terrorism and travel restriction.

the development and as well as growth of tourism industry started. Mainly from mid-1950's UK
developed their tour operations which have resulted in increasing the revenue earned. Hotel
industry usually started understanding the desired of people and their aim motive was to satisfy

them at any cost. Furthermore, from 1950 onwards several component for example enhancement
in availability of free timing and improved holiday packages were available. Moreover, from
1980 various airline business started serving full travel services which encourage individual to
travel all around the world. By 1990 the foundation of tourism industry under United Kingdom
as well as at Europe was effected due to the development of large integrated companies. These
high technology update attract the people from all around the world to travel so the they can
experience these technology themselves. Improvement in Air travel is the main reason behind the
enhancement in tourism industry at 20th century.

was effectively analysed. Firstly, the article includes several concepts which related to evolution

several aspects. Moreover, global tourism has shown a vast improvement since nineteen century,

Africa has faced a huge growth in tourist reaching from 8.4 million to 10.6 million as well as this

reported that annual growth have being noticed of tourism sector under the 20th century. Though
there are only some empirical survey that investigate the exact contribution of tourism to
economic growing as well as development of African economies. However, several
improvements were made under 20th century in order to enhance the growth of this sector. These
trends latter the 20th century under tourism sector.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be analysed that there are several improvements which were
implemented by tourism sector in 20th century in order to effectively motivate people to travel
around the world. Moreover, the main trends which enhance the productivity of tourism sector

was the improvement made under air transportation as well as enabling people to know about
several parts of the world.
