TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT1 This paper is based on the topicof “strategic importance, and practical benefits, of lifelong learning and the role of training and development in building the knowledge, skills and capability of adult learners”. Lifelong learning is the on-going, voluntaryand self-motivated pursuit of knowledge for either personal or professional reasons. It is not only enhances the personality, skills, active citizenship, and social inclusion but also enhances the self-sustainability with the competitiveness and employability(Osborne, 2018). Lifelong learning is important for the many factors in order to achieve the success in the life. It helps to increases the confidence and adaptability that is necessary for the personal development of a person. Each and every person required to develop their skills to grab the new opportunity to success in their career. Personality development helps to develop a positive attitude in every situation of life. It is a fact that the personality of a person can be developed due to increasing confidence. Lifelong learning helps to develop the confidence and adaptability due to increasing knowledge of an individual(Illeris, 2018). The importance of lifelong learning is social awareness and perspective. Lifelong learning increases the social awareness of an individual. It is essential to interact with others, in order to enhance the personal skills that positively impact on the emotional intelligence and bring the greater happiness and success. Interaction with the others helps in the personal and professional areas. Lifelong learning is not all about the skills and development but it is also enhances the skills of social inclusion. It is important for an individual to enhance the skills of social inclusion in order to interact with the others. Lifelong learning is the learning of social inclusion that is why; lifelong learning is important for social interaction(Horrigan, 2016).
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT2 Life enrichment and improved health are the other point which states the importance of lifelong learning. Lifelong learning is also the part of self-motivation and human flourishing. This learning increases the curiosity of learning the different skills in order to enhance the knowledge. Enhancing knowledge and personality development is the technique of self- motivation that helps to achieve the multi-dimensional goal of life. It is fact that the self- motivated mind helps to prevent themselves from the diseases of memory loss with the age related (Career Vision, 2018). Self-motivation is also a part of personality development that is necessary to develop the good career path. It is a fact that the demand and wish list of an individual is never finished that is why; a person put the efforts to attain the goal and wishes. Self-motivation helps to attain the multi-dimensional goal of life and that is beneficial for an individual. There are some practical benefits that help an individual to attain the success in the personal as well as the professional life. There are some professional people continue their learning with the jobs in order to get the promotions and higher position in the other organisation. It is observed that 39% of professional learner continues their education with their work to grab the good opportunity (Meridian, 2018). Enhancing knowledge motivate the person to attain its all objectives and goal of life. As discussed above, the lifelong learning also protect from diseases in related to memory. Lifelong learning also helps to enhance the skills of time management due to which the other issues related to health is also prevented. Healthy body helps to attain the goal easily in the real life. There are many people get the promotion due to their full attendance in their rules and responsibility (Cheary, 2018). It has been seen that the organisation also offers the responsibilities to those person who are physically and mentally fit. Getting promotion for high attendance is a real life example of benefit of lifelong learning.
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT3 Licensing and certification is the another practical benefit which is get by the person. Learning new things without any break helps to enhance the skills to grab the many certificates. Licensing and certification is necessary to keeping some jobs and growing in the career. The government provides the licenses and certification to people for some specific jobs. It is observed that the 57% of professional engaged in learning the activities in the last year in the many areas of achieving and maintaining the licenses and certification. Training and development is a program of learning the new skills under any expert and trainee. It is beneficial for an individual to learn the complex things in an easy way with the help of experts. There are many skills enhancing in the process of lifelong learning but trainers are required to learn the new things in order to provide the instructions and information. It is beneficial to improve the performance and efficiency of an individual. It helps to build the knowledge and capabilities of adults by providing the instruction in the programs (Dhar, 2015). In the training and development program, there are many tools and techniques are used to provide the information to people. The instruction provided by the trainee to the adults helps them to learn the new things. Learning the new things with the different techniques and tools enhance the knowledge of the adults. Learning the new things in the easy way helps the learners to enhance the skills(Alasadi, and Al Sabbagh, 2015). Artificial machines and tools used by the trainers in the training and development program helps to enhance the capability of the adults to do the work. It is a fact that the practical knowledge is more beneficial as compare to theoretical. Using the machines and tools enhance the efficiency of adult with the capability. Trainers provide the instructions to adults to use the machines and tools that help to enhance the knowledge of using the different tools in the real life (Raheja, 2015)

It is a fact that every individual is weak at a certain skills that will not be perfect for the goals. The trainer addresses the weakness so that the performance and efficiency of an adult will improve. The trainer addresses the weaknesses by using the strength of an adult. The capability to do the work will improve by improving the performance of an individual by addressing the weaknesses and using the strength for appreciation. Using strength helps to motivate and enhance the skills of an individual (Business Insight, 2018). Providing the feedback to adults is a function of training and development program. It is a responsibility of a trainer to provide the feedback to trainee at all the stages of training. It is a technique to motivate the person in order to improve its capability. The positive feedback motivates the adult to perform more. Feedback helps the adult to analyse its weaknesses and strength to perform better in the future. It is fact that the self-realisation is the best key to success in the future. Feedback is the best tool to enhance the capability of an individual to do the work(Rodriguez, and Walters, 2017) Providing the information in order to handle the situation helps the adult to enhance the knowledge and capability. The information provided by the trainers for the careers as per their skills and ability helps them to take the right decision for their career. It is necessary to put the efforts in a right way to enhance the knowledge and the capability. Putting the efforts in a right way improves the capability and increases the curiosity to learn the new things in the same field. Training and development program provide the many facilities and organising the activities that helps to building the knowledge and the capability of an adult(Golhar, and Alex, 2017).
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT5 At the end, it has been concluded that the lifelong learning is beneficial for every individual. It is not only enhances the knowledge of an individual but also develop the personal skills such as self-inclusion, motivation and many others. Training and development program helps the build the knowledge and capability of adult learners. The role and responsibility of a trainer improves the performance of an individual and helps to take the right decision. It is a fact that the putting the efforts in a right way and in the right path enhances the knowledge and capability of an adult learner in order to perform the activity.
