The training and learning practices within the healthcare sector is focused on providing
education to the professionals within the healthcare so that their effectiveness can be
improved. Nursing education is a part of healthcare education that is focused on improving
the effectiveness of the nurses working within the healthcare sector. As the nurses within the
healthcare sector are required to cater the changing needs and requirements of the healthcare
sector. Therefore, the nursing workforce is required to be provided with effective training and
development programs so that they can improve their skills and efficiency while working
within the sector. Developing and implementing an effective training program within the
healthcare for the nurses, requires that the program meet the needs and requirements of the
21st century contemporary learner and the requirements of the industry. The essay is focused
on highlighting the key features of 21st century learner and requirements of an effective
training program to cater the needs of such learner focusing upon the emerging needs of
training program for nurses within the healthcare sector. The essay will be focusing on
analysing the impact of implementing a feedback program within the training program in the
healthcare sector.
The education within healthcare is required to be effective as they deal with the health of the
individual. Therefore, it is required that the medical professionals, particularly nurses, are
provided with effective and efficient training programs that help them to develop their skills
and provide satisfactory services to their patients. The diseases that the population today is
dealing with are much complex than before and to identify and understand the implications of
the changing requirements of health care system it is required that the professionals as well as
the nursing practitioners are provided with evidence based or professional training modules
(Bogetz, et al., 2015). The professional learning within the nursing practice requires
continuous adaption of innovative technologies and evolving role of professionals in medical

practice, and are required to develop an interprofessional mindset that is focused on adapting
the key roles that is required by an professional within the sector (Farrel, et al., 2015).
The teaching practices within the nursing practices are required to be shifted from the
traditional approach that was focused on the assumption that the medical professionals will
learn from experience, and the teaching is required to be curriculum focused, to the
contemporary approach that represents the essential features of a 21st century learners
(McGaghie, 2015). As a 21st century learner’s requirements have been explained by Yong
Zhao, in its review that adopting the 21st century learning techniques is required to cater the
world’s changing requirements and to improve the skills of the traditional learner. 21st
century learner is required to provide the education apart from those common curriculum
standards, and are required to be focused on improvement of creativity, and unique talents
along with developing the traditional skillset and knowledge, also there is a requirement of
evaluation techniques so that the individuals learning can be monitored and improved (Zhao,
2015). The contemporary teaching practices is based on certain principles such as the
education is able to develop their ability to effectively communicate with others, be
collaborative within the work environment, also be able to save and retrieve information from
various sources so that a creative solution for an issue can be developed (TeachThought Staff,

The nursing education in 21st century requires that the learners should also be resilient while
