The goal you have selected and the reasons why it is important to you
I have some specific goals for future which can be divided into the long run and the short
run. The long-run goals- After the completion of MBA, my long –run objective is to achieve an
upper managerial position in an established multinational corporation which manufactures or
markets the commoditiesi. Apart from these, one of my highest aspiration is to become the
marketing manager of an advanced company. Hence, I intend to develop within the scope of a
particular firm. As per my beliefs, in the process of achieving the goal, I will express all of my
talents and the interests for contributing to the prosperity of the society. The short-run goals-
When I look 2 years back, I see that I have an interdisciplinary experience in the business
management and travelling. On these two grounds, I have gathered huge knowledge and
experience. From the experiences collected through the past years, I can easily handle the
commodities of a multinational corporation. In order to complete the entire process, I have some
short-run objectives:
Firstly, I have to acquire quality general academic education in the business
administration and at the same time get strong hold over the English language. Secondly, I want
to develop within the scope of a particular firm. I believe the goal setting has abundant
advantages in my life. As per my views, the goals I have set hold a control in my life and
whatever I do. I have learnt how to take charge and think about what I want for myself instead of
letting others guide me. Whenever I think about my life goals or career goals, there is a strong
motivation working within myself. It has propelled me forward and I believe I can achieve my
highest potential through these goals set. The goals are mainly set for stretching myself beyond
the normal self and reach new heights.
How you selected the goal, that includes the specific elements that make it SMART.

TRANSCRIPT2
I have selected the goals by observing my own strengths, weaknesses and how much I
can prosper based on those strengths. I have also gone through the personal development plan
(PDP) for reflecting on my own performance along with the achievements. The personal
development plan has helped me to evaluate and recognize the strengths. It has been an effective
way of monitoring my own progress. I know that clear goals and its measurable outcomes are
highly important and I have ensured that my goals are specific, measurable, achievable, result-
oriented and time bound. My goals are SMART in the following terms:
Specific- My specific goal is to become the manager of a commodity corporation as I have
academic background in that subject and some experience too. By the age of 25, I want to be
hired as a senior manager of an established company.
Measurable- I will review how many interviews I can crack and what type of company hires me
as a marketing manager
Achievable - It is essential for me and my future that people know about myself and what I stand
for so that they appreciate my aspirations. There are various hurdles in achieving the goal such as
it requires strong communication skills, the management skills and also the marketing skills. For
these, I will join the coaching sessions for improving on my abilities and skills.
Realistic- I believe that my goals are quite realistic because there is 80 % chances of my success.
I have done my MBA on marketing and have in depth knowledge on what is marketing and how
a company can be managed. Moreover, I will join the coaching sessions for improving on my
skills which will support me more to achieve the goals. The mentors at the coaching will help me
