transportation sector”
In this paper the focus is given on the functions of the public sector and also the issues and
challenges that are faced by the company will be discussed. The emphasis will be given on the
key challenges in attracting and retaining the workforce in the transport sector. Also the issues
faced by the company will be discussed in this paper. In the last phase of the report the focus will
be given on the recommendations that should be considered by the company so that it can be
simple to meet the expectation level of the employees. By taking into consideration the transport
sector, it can be seen that the employees plays a great role and it is important to give importance
to them. So, this paper will highlight the areas related to improvement and management. Also the
detailed description will be made by taking into consideration the factors related to the
challenges.
By focusing on the various studies, it has been stated by Albrecht, Bakker, Gruman, Macey &
Saks (2015), that to attract and retain the workforce in the transport sector is considered as the
difficult situation for the company. It is important to consider the strategies so that it can be
simple to maintain the interest of the employees and employers towards the activities of the
company. It is one of the challenges to attract the employees towards the company and also to
retain them for long time in the workplace. There are many challenges which are faced by the
organization at the time of attracting the new employees towards the workplace. It is necessary to
consider the new ideas so that the interest of the people can be maintained.
According to Kalemba & Campa-Planas (2017), the image of the transport sector has been
affected which also create hindrance for the new employees to enter into the market. This can be
related to the employees who are focusing on working with the business. In the transport sector
one of the problems is related to equality and diversity that impact the overall operations of the
company on the international platform. Diversity can impact the performance and the overall
efficiency of the employees who are working in the transport sector (Tomski, Lis & Bajdor,
2014).
It has been stated by Connell, Nankervis & Burgess (2015), that to attract the employees for the
benefit of the company can be the issue as there is no proper pattern of the companies. Also there

is lack of professionalism and self-respect which impact the overall profitability of the company.
This has also created problem for the companies to focus on making the decisions that can help
to attract more customers towards the overall operations of the company. The challenge related
to the transport sector is also the high level of competition in the market. It has been seen that
the level of competition of the company is enhancing in the market which is also affecting the
overall interest of the employees towards the activities of the company. The high level of
competition also affects the overall image of the company in the workplace which can also
hinder the capability of the employees towards the organizational activities. It can be stated that
the competition level between the transport sectors is becoming one of the issue to attract the
employees towards the operations of the company. This has also leaded in the rise of the overall
competition level and also in the bad functioning of the HR (Syed & Kramar, 2017).
The level of competition prevailing in the market can also affect the brand image and also the
image of the company on the international platform. It can be stated that transport sector focuses
on welfare of the employees and also has an important role in increasing the supply of local jobs
in the market. So, it can be seen that leadership is required in the public sector but in the
transport sector there are many issues related to leadership which are faced by the companies on
the global platform. Talent management and also there are many problems that are considered in
today’s market which also lead to globalization. The issue related to the workforce diversity can
also impact the overall market share on the international platform (Shields et al., 2015).
The issue is also related to the lac k of satisfaction. It can be evaluated that there are companies
who are not successful in fulfilling the overall need of the employees. In the transport sector, the
requirement of the employees plays a great role as it helps to manage the entire activities of the
company. This can also enhance the dissatisfaction level of the employees and business has to
consider the step which is best for the working. Just because of the ineffective planning the
company suffers from the issue of attracting and retaining the employees in the market. Also it
can be seen that if there is no communication in the workplace then affect can be seen on the
overall process of communication. Top management is also not able to maintain and promote
the overall cooperation among the employees in the workplace. Also the companies are not able
to motivate the employees which can affect the talented and qualified workforce. This problem
can also impact the overall process of selection in context to the activities of the company.
