INTRODUCTIONTravel and tourism sector is the most vital field. That highly contributes in the GDP of acountry (Mihalič and et.al., 2016). This learning provides an understanding of globalenvironment in which travel and tourism sector functions. The development on this field is alsoevaluated using the historical evolution of tourism. It further examines the impact of externalfactors on this business and its influence on the outer environment. Also, international andnational policies along with their impact on the travel and tourism sector is investigated in thisreport. The role played by the government and sponsored bodies in the respective aspect is alsodiscussed in this assignment. Furthermore, this study contains the effects of supply and demandon the travel and tourism sector. In order to acquire the detailed knowledge of the travel and tourism sector, theorganisation chosen is TUI group which is world's top tourism agency that recently recordedturnover of €17.2 billion. Further, it is running its business in the 180 regions of the world with1600 agencies and thus, it is essential for the entity to possess the good knowledge of thegovernmental structures of the numerous geographical locations they are working in. There are four methodsof transportation, road, air, seaand rail. Airlines is the majorAccommodation- Thesesegments of the structureinvolves the places at whichthe tourists will stay duringtheir holiday packages. Hotelbooking according to the needsand demands of the variouscustomers is done in this unit.Travel Agents: These are theindividuals or theorganisations that targets thecustomers, explain them thedetails of the tour packagesand brings them to the tourismindustries (Mihalič and et.al.,2016.). means of transportation; theseairlines entities have tie-upswith the numerous hospitalityorganisations.Attractions- The tourismorganisations should start theirbusiness by aiming on thepresence of the attractionnearby the entity so that largenumber of people can availtheir services. These areprimary motivation for thepeople who visit the place.Organisations should involvethe sightseeing of theseattractions in their packagetours (Michailidou,Vlachokostas andMoussiopoulos, 2016.). Thesespots include the natural parks,sanctuaries, national parks,historical museums andInformation and Co-ordination- This sector of thetravel and tourism fieldinvolve the establishments thatprovides necessary supportservices to the visitors. Theinformation entities include thetour guides, visitor informationcentre, travel insurancecompanies, research bodies,etc. which are hired by the entitiesfor the marketing of theservices offered by them.Tour Operators- It is the mostimportant unit of the travel andtourism sector which combinesthem and then create acomplete tour package. Theyfurther prepare the advertisingmaterial and then advertise andpromote the packaged holidaysusing brochures, print media,etc. 2
