b) Explaining the ways in which local and national policy influences the success of the particular
sector
It has been presented that national as well as local policies have greater influence on the
activities as well as travel and tourism sector. Several times this type of policies are devised with
the aim to eliminate exploitation of customers, fair competition among firms that are carrying out
operations in travel and tourism sector within UK. The focus of local policies that is devised in
UK is on prevention of environment while the national policies deals with the problems relates
8
with decrease in number of tourist, less revenues etc (Palhares, 2012). This type of policies have
positive as well as negative impact on the success of travel and tourism sector in UK. In relation
of negative impact such policies exert pressure over all the firms that are operating in this sector
towards making use of greater sustainable practices and take care of environment. In the recent
time the activities related with travel and tourism has negative impact over society as well as
environment. National economic policy plays most crucial role in the development of any
specific sector. It takes into consideration large number of variables such as sustainable
economic growth. Low inflation, stable exchange rate along with low government borrowing. In
short, it becomes easy to work for the development of any specific sector. The national economic
policy of UK has played major role in development of travel and tourism sector. Further, it has
reduced unemployment rate where large number of people are provided job opportunities easily
and as per their need.
In order to develop tourist destination greater focus is towards cutting of tress and
destruction of wildlife. The increasing usage of adventurous as well as wildlife tours has become
major threat for the environment. All the organizations that operates in travel and tourism
industry needs to ensure that practices and activities must not possess any type of adverse impact
over society and environment (Teng, 2011). Moreover both the policies devised at national and
local level promotes firms to reduce adverse influence over environment. Such has enhanced the
cost as well as efforts of the organization as they need to make adoption of more sustainable
practices. Firms within travel and tourism sector in UK needs to become aware of fact that
sustainable practices increase issues in shorter time span but they have benefits in long run. With
the adoption of such kind of practices the organization would be able to increase satisfaction in
the individuals existing in the market. Along with this they might begin to feel that organization
are taking care of the environment as well as society. Thus it can be said that national and local
policies possess both negative as well as positive impact over success of business within travel
and tourism sector in UK.
c) Manner in which implications of political change affects the travel and tourism sector
Any type of changes with the political environment of nation directly affects the travel
and tourism sector. It can be presented that there is serious influence of the political changes as
they directly leads to enhancing the threats relating with fear and safety. The implications of the
9
positive as well as negative impact on the success of travel and tourism sector in UK. In relation
of negative impact such policies exert pressure over all the firms that are operating in this sector

c) Manner in which implications of political change affects the travel and tourism sector
Any type of changes with the political environment of nation directly affects the travel
and tourism sector. It can be presented that there is serious influence of the political changes as
they directly leads to enhancing the threats relating with fear and safety. The implications of the
9
political changes on UK and along with three varied countries have been enumerated in the
manner stated as under: UK: The political parties have greater impact on the travel and tourism sector to a
significant level. In positive sense it can be demonstrated that the sector has got immense
amount of support from the regulatory authority (Vivanco, 2001). In contrast to this the
sales as well as profitability has reduced due to terrorist attacks as well as instability. For
instance if government of UK has introduced any safety and security policy then it is
necessary for entire sector to comply with such policies. Further, proper safety
environment has to be provided to the customers. India: The changes political factors to a significant level influenced India in positive
aspect. Moreover political parties within the country has always supported the growth as
well as development of tourism. Several new destinations have been devised and travel
and tourism sector has grown at an increasing rate. For instance if government of India
