Challenges
Type 2 diabetes is defined as a health disease which affects the human body
system; it is a life-long disease that affects that way patient’s body handles glucose in
the blood. Mainly, it affects the body system of children, adults and it also increases the
issue of obesity. In last three years, the issue of Type 2 diabetes has increased by 46%
due to lack of healthy foods and diets, and many individuals are suffering from the type
2 diabetes (ACCORD Study Group, 2010). This number has grown due to incapability of
nurses to ensure that they provide effective healthcare to diabetes patients. Nurses face
many challenges while dealing with patients who are suffering from Type 2 diabetes
which makes it difficult to reduce to number of diabetes patients across the globe.
Type 2 diabetes is one of the serious health infections which are growing rapidly
which has created many challenges for nurses since they are not able to find the key
reasons that increase the rate of type 2 diabetes. A recent study observed that the rate
of type 2 diabetes has increased by 20% between the year 2014 and 2017 that time
around 2 million individual in the UK was diagnosed due to lack of healthy foods
(Inzucchi et al., 2012). This increment indicates that it is an alarming health issue that
cannot be handled easily and WHO observed that due to lack of knowledge or
experience nurses cannot able to communicate with a patient that increases the rate of
diabetes. A recent survey identified that the key challenge faced by nurses is that they
are not able to monitor the patients of diabetes which can also increase the rate of type
2 diabetes patients. In the year 2017, around 3 million people were suffered from this
disease which shows that it is global issue which is necessary to be addressed (Action to
Control Cardiovascular Risk in Diabetes Study Group, 2008). This type of issue occurs
when a person consumes unhealthy foods and does not follow proper exercise plan.
Nurses find it challenging to observe their patients to ensure that they follow a diet plan
which leads to uncertainty in the results.
According to the world health organization, many diabetes patients do not follow
the rules and regulation of nurses which is also a common challenge faced by the nurses
since there is lack of communication between the parties which is relevant to decrease
the rate of type 2 diabetes (Nathan et al., 2009). A recent study defined that diabetes is
