Different types, scope and size of the organisation and their
legal structure of Different types of organisation
* When it comes to sports and active leisure industry, there are three basic divisions of the entire segment into different
sub-sectors which are listed herein.
* Public – This sub-sector is the largest employer and opportunity provider in the entire industry and includes various
NGB development programmes along with special institutions such as skateboard parks and swimming pools. Most of
the funding comes from government grants and public taxation.
* Private – The main aim of enterprises which comprise this sub-sector is to service the public with the broad aim of
making profits. Sports retailers and MNC's such as JD Sports, Nike and fitness companies like Esporta are great
examples. This sub-sector also includes gambling events such as horse racing, team events along with private stadiums
and theme parks. Most of the funding is done through private funds or raised through the open market
* Voluntary – This is the largest sub-sector from the identified ones as it comprises of multiple groups of all ages of people
in the UK and consists of various small, medium and large enterprises. Examples include tennis, rugby and football clubs
which all generate large sums of money and adventure sport groups such as diving and skiing are also involved majorly

Types of organisations
* Private- This type of organisation is mainly owned by individuals
who are operated for earning profit. Sports Direct Plc is an example
of Private organisation which is operated by the Mike Ashley.
* Public- This type of organisation is operated by the government.
They offered product and service in order to benefit the
community. UK sport is a public organisation which is operated by
the government of United Kingdom.
* Voluntary- This refers to a non-profit organisation which is
operated individuals without earning any pay for it. Sported UK is
one of the voluntary organisation that supports society sort clubs as
well as youth groups in all over the UK that provide sport for
development.
