Introduction
Emerging technologies are the technologies, which are being perceived as the
capability to change the status quo. It majorly involves a variety of several technologies like
the variety of several technologies like information technology, artificial intelligence or AI,
robotics, cognitive science, nanotechnology and many more (Sørensen & Torfing, 2016). The
following report outlines a brief discussion on the utilization of technologies for the UAE
government using technologies for the purpose of increasing the efficiencies. E-governance
or electronic governance can be stated as the proper application of ICT or information and
communications technology to deliver the government services, communicate with the
transactions, exchanging various information and even integrating several types of standalone
services and systems within government to government, government to business, government
to employees and government to citizens or even back office interactions and processes in the
complete government framework. This report will be providing details regarding the various
technologies that are used for efficiency improvement in UAE government.
Discussion
E-Governance in UAE Government
According to Kumar (2015), E governance or electronic governance is the proper
integration of ICT in each and every process with a core objective to enhance the ability of
that particular government for the purpose of addressing all types of needs of the generalized
public. The main purpose of this electronic governance is proper simplification of processes
for businesses, citizens and government at the local, state and national levels. It is the
utilization of electronic means for promoting good governance. This e governance even
connotes the subsequent deployment of IT within the government functions as well as
processes for causing simplified, moral, transparent and accountable governance (Ljungholm,

2015). Electronic governance involves proper delivery and access of several government
services, communication in the most efficient manner and information dissemination.
Rotchanakitumnuai (2013) stated that, UAE government has been maintaining their
operations and services in the most efficient manner from start of their work and hence for
involving more advancements and effectiveness, they have involved emerging technologies
for making it e governance. There are various advantages of this e governance system in the
UAE government, which are as follows:
i) Reduction of Corruption: The first and the foremost advantage of UAE e
governance is the reduction of corruption. Due to the presence of better technology
orientation in government services, lesser chance of corruption is present. For this type of
reduction of corruption, UAE government has become more efficient and thus such issues are
resolved majorly (Banerjee et al., 2014). With the involvement of emerging technologies like
artificial intelligence and Internet of Things or IoT, the government of UAE got the chance to
make their systems even better than the rest. This helped them in identifying the corrupted
officers and detect corruption in a better manner.
ii) Higher Transparency: As per Janssen and Estevez (2013), the next important and
significant advantage of the e governance of UAE government is its higher and better
transparency. Hence, it becomes easier for the government people and other citizens to
understand the major operations of government and how these operations are being executed.
With the help of Internet of Things technology, UAE government was able to maintain higher
transparency and hence raising quality and coverage of services and information that are
being provided to the citizens.
iii) Increment of Convenience: The proper increase of convenience is the third
important and significant benefit of UAE government e governance. Due to this type of
