INTRODUCTION
Understanding and managing change is the foremost requirement of every business and
this incorporate the organizational tools which help to make the business more successful. The
chosen company for this report is Softwire which is small and medium in UK which provide
software engineers, digital design solutions to their customers. The report main aim is to
understand the managing and leading change in the working environment. The present study
compares the different organizational examples that impact upon company's strategy and
operations. Further study evaluates the ways through which the internal and external drivers
changes affect the leadership and team of the quoted firms and describes measures to minimize
its. Beside this, report explain different barriers for a change and determines how it influences
the leadership decision making process and describes different leadership approaches to deal
with a change.

Apple is one of the top and leading brand in UK that designs and develops and sells
consume electronics and different online services. The company also consider one of the top big
four of technology. The firm also provide hardware products such as iPhone, smartphones, and
iPad tablet computer.
Nokia is another one of the best telecommunication industry that focus on large scale
telecommunication infrastructure and technology development. The company operates its unit in
more than 100 countries and peaked at 85th rank in world. The firm also start introducing
Microsoft mobile after a partnership with Microsoft.

Training and preparation: It is the most effective way in order to deal with new
change. As initially, both the companies start introducing new change and at that time, it is quite
necessary to make their employees aware related to new change. Hence, proper training should
be provided and prepare them to cope up with new change. Further it has been analysed that
proper training sessions is help to raise the performance level of the employees (Al-Haddad and
Kotnour, 2015).
Proper communication: If Apple start implementing new and sudden change, then it is
quite necessary for the leaders to communicate their employees about this new change. At that
time, an effective and proper communication should be provided so that it will help to overcome

using Kurt Lewin's and Kotter's change management model, the quoted firm will easily make
their employees aware about the new change. Further it is also recommended to both the firm
that providing proper training sessions to their employees will also help Apple to accept the
changes and even by creating short term goals and communicate it to the employees will assist
them to manage and lead a change or to take a business at further level of success. In every firm
changes are necessary because it helps to creates positive impact upon business. In the same
case, Apple also take different measures in order to manage the change and make their
employees aware about new change (Anderson, 2016). Apart from this, it is also recommended
to the firm to provide different training sessions in order to raise the performance level of their
employees.
Kurt Lewin's Change management model: It is a model that is used in order to
overcome the resistance between employees because they are not easily adjust with the sudden
change applied by the company. Similarly, as Apple always uses new technological change that
affect the business internally as well as externally. This model consist of three stages such as:
Unfreeze: In this stage, people realizes that something is going to be change and that is
why they have to deal with patience. As Apple also uses new and advance technology and at
that time to cope with this situation, leaders of the firm describe the situation with clear and
effective communications in order to accept the changes (Hartge, Callahan and King, 2019).
Change: When employees are ready to accept the change, then they are come into next
stage. In this, employees will become aware of the importance of the change more quickly and

Lack of employee involvement: It is one of the most common barrier to change
management. Because employees have a fear of change and that is why they did not involve in
the change process. In the same way, employee of softwire are not easily accept the sudden
change (Lopez, Bastein and Tukker, 2019). Therefore, workers are also had lack of desire to
embrace a new culture. Employees are not easily accept the changes and did not present their
view points. Hence, it is quite necessary for the firm to cope up the barrier of change.
Lack of effective communication strategy: Due to not having effective communication
strategy, the leaders and the employees of the big firm do not accept the changes. In fact, the top
leaders always assume that once they announce the change then people have to accept it. But on
the other side, if the leaders did not communicate about the new change then it will create a
barrier for a change.
Organizational culture: If the planning for an organization culture is not appropriate
and the planning team is fails to make the decisions then it will also create the barrier for a
change. Moreover, the culture of an organization should also be effective so that it will easily
