INTRODUCTIONOrganisational change is defined as alteration which occurs in work environment. This isan important characteristic of various organisations and it is inevitable in progressive workenvironment (Anderson, 2016.). This change affects the structural relationships and roles ofindividuals in the company. In this report, the company which is considered is ZARA andPRIMARK. This report describes comparison of different organisational change on strategy andpolicy of the company, internal and external drivers of leadership and barriers for organisationalchange. At last, it explains different leadership approaches that affect organisation. TASK 1 P1 Compare different organisational examples where there has been an impact of change on anorganisation's strategy and operations Organisational structure is defined as the way of doing business by adopting newtechnology or structure and achieve organisational goals. An organisational strategy is defined asthe actions of a company for achieving long term success and goals. Strategic plans take a longtime but they are always achieved by the company. Zara is a Spanish cloth brand that is famousworldwide for it's clothing and apparels. This company has headquarters in Arterio in Galiciaand it was founded in the year 1975 by Mr. Amancio Ortega and Mr. Rosalia Mera. Thiscompany follows lean organisational structure and it emphasizes on high performance of thecompany. Whereas on the other side, Primark is a fashion retailer of UK that was established inthe year 1969. This company has headquarters in Dublin and it is a subsidiary of ABF. The firststore of Primark was opened by Arthur Ryan. This company follows the tall structure whichconsists of different level of hierarchy (Mowday and et. al., 2013). The following table showscomparison between the two brands on the basis of various drivers of change. BasisZARAPRIMARKTechnological Change Zara uses point of scale systemfor transactions. This helps inbuilding strong link betweenvendors and it improves theordering process. ThisPRIMARK uses newtechniques for preparingdresses and cloth material inless time. These techniqueshelps to build cloth material

company has installed personaldigital assistance for checkingthe availability of new designson regular basis. ZARA usesinformation technology andhuman intelligence as hybridmodel for circulatinginformation through theorganisation effectively.When information is properlysend from stores toheadquarters then it enablescontrol on al operations ofcompany. ZARA deals withselling of it's fashion clothesand apparels online forattracting more number ofcustomers. with least defects and theseare of high quality. As usingnew technologies in makingclothes will help company incompleting orders in less time.This helps them to attract morecustomers and to remainsuccessful and sustain inmarket for long time. Thiscompany does not sell itsclothes online but then alsothis has nor affected sales ofthe company. This companyuses new technology and eco-friendly techniques to operate. Structural Change The organisational structurefollowed by ZARA is verticalintegration and in thismanufactures have tointroduce new products in veryless time. It has gone forvertical integration withmanufacturers to introducenew products in no time. Theonline website has boosted thesales especially in Europe.Control policy has beenimplemented for to makeIt has expanded its business inUS and Bangladesh to improveits sales and its annual saleshas indeed increased by 17%.It was the biggest expansionwith the motive to keep theprices low. Further, it hasconstituted “Ethical Trade andEnvironmental Sustainability”team to assess the performancewith the standard. It has 350stores and plans to open morestores in the coming years.
