INTRODUCTION
In today's era business environment plays a crucial role for an organisation in order to
understand need of changes that are essential in a competitive marketplace. Changes are
necessary as well as inevitable part of an organisation (Kotter, 2012). It is essential for a business
to analysis issues and problem and adopt changes as per the requirement which help an
organisation to sustain in market for longer period of time. In this report organisation chosen is
Aston Lark, an insurance company based in United Kingdom. This report is going to discuss
impact of change on an organisation's strategy and operation. Evaluating internal and external
drivers that affect leadership, team and individual behaviour within organisation in decision
making process. Moreover, adopting measure that help in minimising negative impact of change
in organisational behaviour and identifying different barriers for change as well as its influences
on leadership decision making. Furthermore, application of different leadership approaches in
order to deal with organisation changes in competitive marketplace is discussed in this project.
Overview of Company
Aston Lark Limited provides insurance brokerage services to general customer's. They
understand in a better way with shared beliefs, values and ambitions as to embarked upon
customer's in order to become most trusted advisory in this particular industry (About Aston
Lark, 2018). It scope is to combined expertise in vast and adapting to provide comprehensive
advice that when world around changes our business also evolves. Moreover, they are dealing in
mitigate risk by providing custom fit product and risk management advice.
TASK 1
P1Comparing different organisation and its impact of change in organisation's strategy and
operation
In today's context the main motive of an organisation is to earn profit and attain
sustainability in a competitive marketplace. Organisation operates in a dynamic environment in
which changes are adapted as per the requirement of market. Some of the factors that impact on
organisation's strategy and operation are innovation, new and advancement of technologies and
changes in taxation policy which impact operational activities of an organisation (Doppelt,
2017). Herein, with such changes in environment, companies forced to adapt certain changes in

their business in order to achieve their goals and objectives respectively. Aston Lark is basically
an insurance based company. It have various other similar organisation that affect its
productivity and profitability in same industry line. Herein, it is necessary for them to adopt
changes in order to become competitive among its competitors and maintain its growth as well
as become successful in same industry line.

positive relationship between employees and customers. Thus, from the above comparison its has
been analysed that change in organisation's structure and operation is necessary in order to have
effective and productive outcome.

In an organisation both internal and external driver plays crucial role in operating day to
day business activities (Yoder-Wise, 2014). Both external and internal drives affect on changes
in leadership, team and on behaviour of an individual in an organisation. Aston Lark is an
insurance based company in which its employees and staff members perform their roles and
responsibility as well as their duties in an effective manner. This help them to achieve their goals
and objectives effectively. Herein, there are certain internal and external factors that affect its
leadership, team work and individual behaviour in their working culture which are determined
below:
External Factors: External factors are refer to those drivers in which an organisation does not
have any kind of control over it. Moreover, this factors affect adversely on an organisation
performance in a competitive edge.
Political factor: Political factors are those factors which include government
interferences and changes in taxation policy that affect an organisation activities (Salmela,
Eriksson and Fagerström, 2012). Herein, Aston Lark need to adopt certain changes as per
government rules and regulation where they are operating their business activities. This, rules
and regulation and taxation policy affect leaders of an organisation in decision making process as
they need to take decision as per laws. Moreover, its adversely affect on team work and
behaviour of an individual in performing task within an organisation.
Economical factor: Economical factor includes changes in interest rate, employment law
and inflation rate which affecting leadership, teams and individual in an organisation. Herein,
Aston Lark leaders are affected in taking appropriate decision due to inflation rate and changes

and low interest rate the buying power of customer is also declining which adversely affecting
productivity as profitability of their business.
Social factor: Social factor have great affect on organisation as per changes in need and
demand of customers. This factor are essential affection on leadership decision of Aston Lark as
they need to take decision as per its customers need and demand. Eventually, it adversely affect
on team work as need to make changes as per requirement in order to cope with upcoming
demand.
Technological factor: Technological factors are associated with changes in technologies
that are helpful for an organisation in increasing its productivity. With the adoption of new and
advance technologies Aston Lark Leader will able to take significant decision which help them
in achieveing their goals and objective within stipulated time period. Moreover, it will lead to
enhance team performance as well as an individual can increase their knowledge and skills in an
appropriate manner that is helpful for both organisation and individual.
Internal factors: Internal factors are those drivers which are in control by an organisation.
Herein, some of the internal factors that affect leadership, team work and individual behaviour in
an organisation are determined below:
Financial management: Funds are an essential part of a particular organisation in
operating and performing their day to day business activities (Hrebiniak, 2013). Herein, mangers
of Aston Lark need to have sufficient funds in operating their business activities. Moreover, if
they have lack of funds then it will significant affect performance of leader, team members as
well as changes occur in an individual behaviour. Moreover, they need to maintain sufficient
fund in order have better performance from their employees and attain sustainability in
competitive marketplace.
Cultural difference: In an organisation employees come from different culture, values,
state and regions. With this difference among employees affect performance of team work and
attitude of an individual affect organisation productivity. Herein, this culture difference will
affect leader in taking appropriate decision and handling team in an effective manner which is
beneficial for an organisation.

P3 Evaluating measure in minimising negative impact of change on organisational behaviour
In an organisation it is necessary to take certain measure in order to minimise negative
impact change on organisational behaviour. In organisational cultural employees resist in
adopting changes as they do not feel comfortable on adopting change rapidly (Wagner, 2016).
For this purpose management of Aston Lark should adopt strategies such as rewarding the
employees by providing incentives and promotions. This would help them in motivating
employees and enable them to adopt changes rapidly which are necessary of fulfil objective and
gaols of an organisation. When changes are implement it become difficult for both management
and mangers in maintaining their operation functions in an effective manner. Herein, for this
purpose mangers of Aston Lark has adopted PDCA model (Planning, Do, Check and Act) so

identifying issues of changes and can take effective measure to improve level of performance

objectives in predetermine and planned manner. In this stage leader of Aston Lark determines
issues and problems regarding change in plans and strategy. Herein, they are planning change in
implementation of innovation technology in their business operation so that they can work on
updated software. As this will help them in maintaining customers data records and handle
queries without any difficulties.
