INTRODUCTION Team building is considered as collective term related to several kinds of activities that are used to enhance the social relations as well as define the roles within teams and it also include collaborative tasks(Irwin, 2020). In current time every organization is focusing on team building because through it employees able to understand each which lead to increase in productivity as well as it also decrease conflict situation. Respective report is based on analysing concept and understand how intercultural and diverse terms conduct functioning. Moreover it also include knowledge related to the development of high performing team. Part A: Selecting your team 1. Learning Facilitator 1.1. Self-Chosen Groups. Use information to assist in chosen group of 3-5 members with whom to undertake this project. By analysing the LPA results, Emotional Intelligence, and top 5 Strengths Quest Talents of my classmates I decided to selected 4 members because these all will help me in attaining my desire goal as well as target in successful manner. The four selected team members according to their LPA results, Emotional Intelligence, and top 5 Strengths Quest Talents result areRodrigo Andres Cubides Bonilla, Matthew Mckinnon, Mariana Zaia and DingxinZong. The selection of these candidates are based on their different skills such as executing, influencing, relationship building and strategic thinking. These skills are essentials to conduct work in a team as that will help in conducting work properly by developing proper relation. 2. Using information about team members’ LPA, EI and Strengths Quest to support views, discuss why this group of students has the potential to form an effective work group. The selected members of the team areRodrigo Andres Cubides Bonilla, Matthew Mckinnon, Mariana Zaia and DingxinZong. These all members of team have different skills as well as abilities which help me in attaining my goal properly as well as their skills also help in developing proper working environment(Lalani, Bussu and Marshall, 2020). Moreover Mariana Zaia, she has executive, influencing,relationshipbuildingaswellasstrategicthinkingskillandincontextof DingxinZong, he has effective influencing, relationship building and strategic thinking skills which aid in attaining desire goal and objective successfully . 3. Using information about team members’ LPA, EI and Strengths Quest to support views, anticipate possible areas of weakness or conflict within the group. According to analysis of LPA results, Emotional Intelligence, and top 5 Strengths Quest Talents result of team members i.e.Rodrigo Andres Cubides Bonilla, Matthew Mckinnon, Mariana Zaia and DingxinZong all have different skill which is positive as well as negative point (Dietzand Mulder, 2020). The negative or weak point is that it leads to the Rodrigo Andres Cubides Bonilla didn't have team building skill due to which other feel issues as may it leads to situation in which he will not cooperate with other team members. On the other hand Matthew Mckinnon, Mariana Zaia and DingxinZong all have no executive skill due to which they may lack in attaining the team goal but Rodrigo Andres Cubides Bonilla have respective skill so this may leads to conflict in the team. Part B: Team-Building (Group) 4. As a group, design a team building activity and explain why believe it will increase effectiveness of team. There are several team building activities which help in developing a effective team as well as it also aid in attainingthe predetermined goal and objectives.According toCartwright and Pappas, (2008),considering 22 guidelines which have already been provided for developing emotional intelligence within an organisation can be helpful in in conducting ice breaking session because it will directly promote emotional and social learning.Some of the main or essential team building activities are given below:- 5
Conduct ice breaking session – According to this management will conduct ice breaking session in which every team members will interact with each other and try to understand their perspectives(García‐Girón and et.al., 2020). This will also help me in developing proper relationships among the team members which ensure that their will be less chance of conflict. Conduct motivational session – In respect of this activity company management need to organize motivational session so that all team members feel motivated to conduct work with each other. Through this I able to motivate all team members to conduct work together effectively without conflict. In respect of my team membersRodrigo Andres Cubides Bonilla, Matthew Mckinnon, Mariana Zaia and DingxinZong I conducted ice breaking session at the initial stage so that all members will understand each other as well as it also help me and my team members to analyse each other strengths as well as weaknesses according to which strategies or plans can be developed. The dynamics and roles which I observe in the team are always be accountable for the work, take initiatives to conduct work properly and effectively, accomplish work in properly and on timely manner and many more(McNeil and et.al., 2020). When I compare it with my team members skills, abilities and knowledge according to the team members’ LPA’s, Strengths Quest Talents, emotional intelligence and cultural backgrounds. I analyse that in my team all members have different skill which leads to attainment of desire goal by the collaborative nature of working. For example Matthew Mckinnon, Mariana Zaia and DingxinZong have effective relationship building skill through which they build effective team as well as conduct work properly where Rodrigo Andres Cubides Bonilla has effective executive skill which help in conduct work effectively for achieving desire goal successfully. 7. Reflect on what learnt about the capacity to contribute effectively to a team. As mentioned by Innovation People, (2013), adaptive performance at workplace is considered to be something where understanding the change takes place within the working environment.While conducting the project in a team I go through several ups and downs which impact on the performance respectively. During conducting work in team I get to known that it is not each to handle team of members who have different skill and abilities. It is so because 8
perspective of every person is different as well as their working style is different so this is necessary for all members to understand each other as that help in attaining desire goal or objective successfully. While this I also analyse that in a team it is essential that every members help as well as support each other. 8. Provide recommendations regarding further improve contribution to the team. According to me there are some recommendations for the future improvement related to the contribution of team such as according to me it is essential for every members to conduct a ice breaking session at the initial stage. This is so because through that all members able to understand and know each other which enhance their working as well as it also increase the quality of work effectively. In addition to this, it is also suggested that in a team it is essential to conduct discussion before taking any decision related to the team. 9. Include records of team communication in the appendices of the report, as evidence of team- member contribution. In a team every individual contribution matter because every members task is linked or based on one another so it is responsibility of team members to contribute properly in team so that they attain goal effectively(McNeil and et.al., 2020).
