Day 2 Reflection 1.I totally agree with the outcomes of the motivation self-assessment as motivation is an element which drives the desire to perform a task as expected to get fulfilled outcomes in positive manner. As motivation improves the ability to do a task so understandingthelevelofmotivationthroughthisself-assessmenthasbeen particularly useful (Cho & Yang 2018).I have scored 36 which reflects that I have high extrinsic motivation to which I fully agree as I am result driven so social acknowledgement or recognition makes me happy and inspired to work better and harder further for better performance. Also my score in this assessment indicated that my high extrinsic motivation level sometimes tend to put me under stress and anxiety so I should even improve my intrinsic motivation level as low level of intrinsic motivation can result to low satisfaction in future as I may tend to grow more focused to valued results, so the resultsindicated that I need to develop my intrinsic motivation level to maintain a complete balance, which I completely agree. 2.No both quizzes did not provided me same outcome as in Emotional Intelligence self- assessment result my score indicated high level of EI but it even indicated to improve areas of conversations that are complicated so that I could learn to avoid opposed reactions in tough conversation to avoid negative outcomes. While in motivation self- assessment result my score reflected high level of extrinsic motivation which reflects my result oriented nature. From both the assessment I have realised that though I am result driven and have fair emotionally intelligence, but I need to improve my skills to remain less anxious and stressed in tough conversations or situations which can be donethroughpractiseandlearningtacticstobuildintrinsicmotivation. This improvement will help me perform better by maintaining a control of emotions, thoughts and reactions so that I could be constantly motivated from inside without being affected overly through outcomes. 3.From the results of this self-assessment I came to learn that I have high level of extrinsic motivation which means I am driven by valued outcomes and social recognition which to some extent is good, but I should also improve my level of intrinsic motivation so that I could be constantly inspired in all situations and not get
heavily dependent on outcomes as more inclination to extrinsic motivation may lead to less satisfaction. 4.From this module I have learnt various theories of motivation such as content theory, process theory, equity theory, expectancy theory, reinforcement and goal setting theory. For me goal setting theory has been particularly helpful which indicates that when tasks are broken into measurable goals then they can become more motivating (Ariani 2016).For me this theory is helpful as under pressure I often struggle with stress so braking down of tasks into measurable goals will help me achieve those in expected time with adequate focus and balance of stress level. 5.The insights from this self-assessment indicates to develop my intrinsic motivation level so as to improve my professional practice now or in future, for which I need to learn to lower my high inclination towards results and control my expectation related to tasks. This will help me balance my emotions and anxiety level which will help me enjoy my task and eventually this will help me to become productive with better management of motivation and emotional control.
