INTRODUCTION
People work to attain their basic needs and to grow in their life. Working class people also
become independent which enables them to control their own life. Working makes them learn
many things and gives different level of exposures which helps them in developing their skills
and personal relations. Working people by way of working contributes to the society. People
working for long develops their personality and interaction skills determined by a combination of
working environmental factor. therefore it is necessary to encourage and develop healthy and
friendly work culture so that more people can come and work.

What does Motivation Mean?
Motivation is a mental process which excites a person to do something which he desires to do.
Motivation derives from an energy within the person which reflects his particular way of
behaviour toward any situation or a condition.
According to Maslow's Hierarchy theory, is a theory based on Psychology, this theory portrays
about the four needs of an individual on a scale at which it places fundamental needs at bottom
and self actualization at the top. Based on the psychological needs it further explains that a
individual expects and desires the most basic needs first for himself,then can only he could think
of any residual needs. Therefore, for any individual it is imperative for his satisfaction that his
psychological needs must have met first. Psychological needs are nothing but a social security
which he seeks to established in order to make his living with his loved ones and other material
belongings. Maslow further clarifies that if any person attempts to strive beyond the stage of
basic needs with the purpose to obtain betterment which is a situation falls within a term called
“Meta- Motivation”. A person might get depressed or tensed if fails to meet this needs.
Extrinsic and Intrinsic Motivation
provided that both the above mentioned motivation match with Maslow's Hierarchy theory. As
akin to the theory both are adaptable except in uncertain situations and events.
Intrinsic Motivation: refers to inner desires of an individual to attain a particular target. The
attempt is to gain pleasure which according to them is morally right thing to do irrespective of
the nature of their action. Their inner motivation cultivates the willingness to do certain activity
to attain satisfaction.
Extrinsic Motivation: this motivation comes from external factor unlike intrinsic, the
surrounding and environment affects the personality of individual which are totally different and
unconnected with the task they perform.
The various factors which motivate employees to work
It is indeed imperative to identify what motivates employees to work and give their best at
workplace. Employee motivation is the degree of inner spirit which the employee bring at the
workplace in a positive sense which cultivates the emotional commitment with dedication to
achieve the goals at workplace(Chernyak-Hai 2018.). Therefore, it important to maintain
healthy, friendly and professional relation among all the different level of employees working

under a common working place. Based on research there are various relevant factors extracted
which helps to motivate employees to work. They are as follows: Reward and Recognition employees deserves recognition and reward for their good
work. This yields motivation in them to work with dedication. Development development is the by product which an employee develops in their work ,
generally employees prefer work with development opportunities. It makes an employee
self reliant and independent and enables them to work with more diligently and
effectively. Leadership a good leader or a mentor is very important for employee. A good leader
motivates them which boost the confidence in the employees which improves their work
performance(Levine2019). Work life balance employee is also a human being just like others and he too has a
personal life and space to live on. Every employee desire a good and healthy life, a life
without stress and pressure. Therefore, it is equally important to provide a good work life
balance to employees and not to keep them engaged in work for too long. Work
allocation among the employees should be reasonable so that they do not get exhausted.
Instead, support them and nurture them by maintaining balance between their work and
life(Morgeson2019).
Salary: money is not a factor of motivation unless employee is not making adequate money to
meet his basic needs. On the other hand, a good salary package is indeed an essential ingredient
for motivating employees to come regular to the office(Cloke2021).
Promotion:
Promotion is another important factor which motivates employees to work effectively. An
employee gets promotion based on his experience and good understanding of work. Promotion
helps an employee to elevates his work profile with responsibilities and he has to perform his
duties prudently.
Work Environment:
A friendly work environment motivates employees to work better. Work environment refers to
physical environment of office space, a fairly office space greatly affects the people in their
work performance. Work environment should be filled and embellished with things which

stimulate the senses of the employees. Such as installing indoor games like table tennis, carom ,
chess and common area where all employees gathers and communicate during rest or lunch hour.
Therefore, it is essential to focus more on employees well-being.
The positive factors employees experience as a result of their job roles
There are various benefits for the employees of their job experience, it strengthen them and
creates various opportunities and benefits them in their career. A good job experience can help
employees to elevate in their future career and open numerous job placement for higher profits.
The benefits include: More engaged, productive employees : engaged employees becomes more productive
and efficient and able to bring other advantages to the workplace. Lower absenteeism rates : where there are more happy and satisfactory employees there
are low chance of absenteeism(Goldsmith2021). Increased quality of work : a good work environment and supportive team leader makes
employees happy,confidant and effective and with skills the work they do is more
creative and appreciable.
 Improved quality of work : as the employees gets experience and this resulted into
knowing about the business including the clients and customers experience. Therefore
knowing the nature of the work and with good experience employees tend to work with
more dedication which enables them to understand better about the needs and concerns of
the customer and give them better customer service(Brannick2019).
Therefore, the positive experience of the employees elevates them and put them at higher level
which is more professional and worthy for their overall development(De Boeck 2019).
The negative factors employees experience as a result of their job roles
Negative factors which the employee may experience in their job roles may be the excessive
workload . Employees often has a negative feeling about their current work experience . Many
employees after joining the work shows dissatisfaction toward their work because they think the
work they are doing will not benefit them in developing their skills and there is no future scope
for this work(Zhang2020). They develop an anxiety about the future , about their ling term job
security and their retirement security(Rabenu2018). There lack of challenge increased day by
day at the workplace which develops the frustration in them. The low recognition for the level of

their work area and low pay often develop concern which lower their esteem and spirit which
makes their job experience worst(Koodamara 2021).
Strategies to cope with negative factors employees experience as a result of their job roles
The best strategies to cope with negative factors that an employees experience as the result of
their job roles are as follows: Opportunity to express opinions: considering the employees negative experience ,the
employees should be give opportunities to put their opinion about workplace and evry
other issue related to work or workplace such as , pay, working hours, benefits, holidays ,
dress code etc. allowing them to share their opinion can bring huge chance in their
concerns and proactive response to their issues will bring their confidence back and they
will feel free and relaxed(Prabhu2021).
 Fair treatment: employees should be treated with fair and encourage and appreciate them
for their work consistently is important to gain their trust.
CONCLUSION
As per the above study, it can be concluded that motivation is indeed the most important factor to
for doing something with dedication. Motivation is a push that strikes intensively in the inner
conscious which gives a person hope and inner energy which enables him to do what he actually
desires to do willingly and dedicatedly. In context of employees it is also essential to keep
motivating employees to make them work effectively considering the all negative and positive
factors , an employee should be treated fairly and respectfully
