INTRODUCTION
In the organisation there employees that need to be motivated to give their best effort to
give effective performance in the organisation. In this report the organisation is Sainsbury which
is UK based retail sector and that deals in many goods and services (Hall, Miller and Tice, 2019).
In this report, it is being discussed about the motivation and models to determine the effective
way to deal with many situation. Some factors that impact the motivation of employees such as
salary, promotion and work environment. Apart from that it is being analysed the positive job
role that will help in improving their performance and examine the strategies cope up with the
negative factor that were experience as result of their job role.
MAIN BODY
What does motivation mean?
Motivation refer to the important way to foster their performance and efficiency and will
lead to many changes in their performance. This enhance their effectiveness and will help in
increasing the job role done by them and boost their confidence to work much better way. In the
context of Sainsbury the need to motivate the employees is very essential to increase the
organisational functions. Following is the Maslow's Hierarchy theory is being analysed-
Maslow' s Hierarchy theory- This theory is very effective and most common used model
that concern with the fulfilled of basic requirements. Following are the levels-
Physiological needs- This refers to the basic needs of the human that they want to be
fulfil. The needs are food, water, breathing, shelter and cloth. In the Sainsbury, the
requirements of employees is to fulfil the basic need of the employees (Poorthuis, 2018).
Security and Safety needs- This level refers to second level and the needs is to fulfil the
security and safety become primary. In the context of Sainsbury, this will motivate the
employees to world more better manner.
Social needs- Things refers to the social needs such as love, acceptance and
belongingness that drives human behaviour. This include the Family. Social groups and
community.
Esteem needs- The fourth level is refers to the appreciation and respect that could be
achieve and will help in to motivate in employees. In the context of Sainsbury, this will
help in increasing the satisfaction and lead to better performance.
