Introduction
Motivation is one of the essential factor that encourage people towards work and attain
targets. There are number of motivation factors which influence workers to continue their job
roles. This report is based on why people work and it is understood by examine that individual in
company have differences in their work, moods etc. so that company need to emphasis on
understand the beliefs, values, actions of people (Baloch and Siddiqui, 2020). This helps to
encourage them towards proper work. Hence, this whole report is useful to improve to gain
profitable results within business industry. It includes various factors that are used to motivate
people towards work. Further it involves positive and negative factors that employees experienced
while perform job roles.
What does Motivation Mean?
Motivation is that which explain why people initiate, terminate the certain behavior at a
point of time. It is a process that guide, maintain the goal oriented behavior so that targets are
easily achieved by organization in a set time duration. There are two types of motivation- Intrinsic
and extrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation is that in which individual emphasis on doing
something without received any external rewards. Whereas External motivation is that in which
individual are motivated by getting external rewards, appreciation etc. to work effectively and
efficiently (Chen and et. al.,2020). Intrinsic motivation is highly linked with maslow needs
hierarchy level because in this a person internally feel to reach the top and for this they need to
begin with psychological needs and ended over self-actualization needs. To effectively understand
the motivation, Maslow's need hierarchy theory is demonstrated below:
Psychological needs- These are core needs and represent as intrinsic motivation due
to which an individual highly motivated towards attaining targets in organization.
Safety needs- These needs represent safety and security. These represent as external
motivation that encourages individual to attain targets properly.
Love and belonging needs- This need is based on feeling of belonging where human
feel connected and being a part of group. It is essential while working at organization.
In this company need to develop friendly culture so that love and belonging needs are
to be satisfied.
Esteem needs- In this need self-worth, respect are included where individual
emphasis on develop their dignity among other members. It helps in attaining targets
properly.
