• Thinking of all the people of the world as “one”.
• Respecting and adopting other cultures.
• Knowing one’s heritage along with that of others.
• Understanding the global economy in terms of people,
land, and water.
• Judge governance by how well it meets all people’s
needs
• Pledge allegiance to the earth: question nationalism.
• It is important to choose curiosity over certainty.
• Never believing to have a right to anyone else’s
resources.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and
Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) is a specialised
agency of the United Nations (UN), which has the
mission to contribute to the building of peace,
reducing poverty and encouraging sustainable
development and intercultural dialogue. This is done
through promotion of education, sciences, culture,
communication and information. The UNESCO body
is governed by an assembly of all member states and
an executive board of 58 members ("UNESCO |
