INTRODUCTION
The present report is based on the topic organizational behavior which is the process of starting
the behavior of the people in a particular group. It also results in giving insight of the employees
in a particular organization which will result in achieving business productivity. The chosen form
of the report is mark and Spencer which is one of the top British multinational retailers which
has it’s headquartered in London and serves home products and clothes. The report will discuss
about the organizational culture, politics and power influence the team behavior and performance
in detail. On the other hand it will also discuss about the various motivational theories which will
help in motivating the workers in achieving the objectives in the organization. In addition to it
will also discuss about the philosophies of the organizational behavior by using the path goal
theory and difference between effective and end effective team is being analyzed further in this
study.
LO-1
Examining the organization culture, politics and power influence individual team and behavior
and performance
Organization culture is termed as the process of values and beliefs which is very important for
mark and Spencer. There are four types which result in influencing the performance and the
productivity of the team in the organization (Marchand and Peckham, 2017).
Power culture
The role of power culture in marketing spencer is related to having the power of authorities that
is in the hands of two people of the organization. In this the people of organization I’ll able to
take any decision data regarding the organization. Along with this they can also enjoy a special
place and position. It is the duty of the organization to assign the task so there subordinates and
subordinates in which they have to complete the task at any cost. As the subordinates of the
organization have no option as they want to do the work which was allotted to then. Therefore it
has been known that this type of culture does not result in giving any right of freedom to the
people so that they can express and share their views with the superior. On the other hand this

type of culture also result in the motivating the employees in mark inexpensive as there is no
thought feeling and presents in the organization.
Task culture
In Marks and Spencer it is known as the culture which is related to developing team which will
result in achieving all the goals of the organization (Ragab and Arisha, 2018). In this type of the
culture of the organization make the team of individual that is four to five members that is to
achieve long term or short term objectives. Therefore it is the best culture as all the team
members come together to share their ideas, talents and skills which is result in completing the
assigned task successfully. On the other hand it will also result in motivating the employees due
to their presentation level and throughput which will also result in increasing.
Person culture
It is the type of culture bear on the employees of the company experience that they are the
important assets as compared to the organization. This culture is not good because it resulted put
off for the employees as they will come to the organization for currency sake and will not get any
emotionally involved to the organization. As in this culture the individual who are working in the
organization think of themselves as compared to the organization. therefore it has been identified
that in this step the employees of the mark in Spencer will not help each other which will result
in demotivating to work and by this the productivity and performance of the organization L also
be affected.
Role culture
It is a type of culture that is used by the mark and Spencer to assign the work to the employees
on the basis of their talent, interest, qualification and skills. In this all the employees work hard
which will result in completing the task in the time. Hands it has been known that then lays who
were assigned the world add responsible and accountable for completion the work on time. Buy
this the employees of the company will also be motivated to complete the task in an effective
manner as all the responsibility which I’ve given to them come from power. Hands it can be said
that this culture is best for influencing the performance and the behavior of team (Ogbeiwi,
2017).
