Research methodology is consider important part of research project as it support in
accumulation of primary and secondary data about the field of study. There are some useful
research methods which will be explained as below:
Research choice: For doing this study, quantitative research will be followed as it help
investigator when they require data in form of number and reliable (Quinlan and et. al., 2019).
As comparison to qualitative study, quantitative research not take more time as well as resources.
Research approach: For analysing quantitative data, deductive approach of research will
be applied. Main purpose for selecting deductive approach as it support in analysation of
quantitative information without any difficulties. Inductive approach is not apply for this
investigation because it require qualitative data and also need more resources.
Research philosophy: Within a study, positivism philosophy will be applied as it support
an investigator in collection and analysation of quantitative information about the selected topic.
Interpretivisim philosophy is not appropriate for current study because it is completely based on
qualitative study (Gray, 2019).
Time horizon: This is another research method that is classified into two different
sections i.e. cross sectional and longitudinal. Within a research project, cross sectional approach
will be used as it is based on current situation and support in completion of study within a given
time.

for talent management. For gathering secondary data books, articles, magazines etc. are consider
best sources. On the other hand, primary research gives the outputs of the structured
questionnaire with the outputs used for deductive approach (Kumar, 2019).
Cost, access and ethical consideration: This is an important part of study because it
support researcher in completion of primary and secondary study in appropriate manner.
Sufficient amount of capital will be require by investigator for doing each activities of study in
accurate manner. Along with this, researcher has complete access to gather information about the
study to the employees of Grosvenor Hotel. As it turn to support researcher by saving their time

Sampling: It is an useful process used by investigator for selecting sample size. There are
two sort of sampling such as probability and non-probability. Within an investigation, probability

P6 Reflect on the effectiveness of research methods
I am happy that I got a chance to do research on a broad topic i.e. challenges that get
anticipated while managing talent within the hospitality sector. This is a interesting topic that
support me by increasing my knowledge regarding the importance and challenges of talent
management for an organisation as well as employees. For achieving this objectives I used
questionnaire as it support me by collecting and analysing of quantitative information. I also
used deductive method for analysing quantitative information effectively and systematically.
Apart from this, by doing this investigation, I faced several kind of issues including unethical
behaviour of respondents, lack of time, lack of resources etc. These are major challenges that
have direct impact on mine by reducing my confidence level. In order to deal with this issue, I
used to follow Gantt chart, principles of research ethics etc. This will support me in completion
of full project within given deadline.
P7. Alternative research methodologies and lessons learnt in view of the outcomes.
This is consider another part of study that support an investigator in collection of data
about the study. Interview is an useful type of alternative research methodology that assist
investigator in gathering of qualitative information regarding the current topic. In interview,
researcher will require to prepare some open-ended questions as it support them in collecting as
well as analysing of information in qualitative way. Therefore, researcher could use interview as
an alternative and collect valid and reliable data about the instigation (Johnson and Christensen,
2019).
CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Conclusion
From the above report, it has been concluded that most of the respondents are familiar
about the concept of talent management. There are certain significance of managing talent such
as employee motivation, continuous coverage of critical roles and retain top and knowledgeable

talent. Along with this, there are certain part of talent management system including career
planning and pathing, recruitment planning meeting, promotions, lateral moves and transfer.
These are main parts which turn to assist an enterprise in its growth and development. Apart
from this, there are various challenges faced by an enterprise while managing talent at workplace
including trouble in providing training to workforce, cultural differences among workforce,
effective alignment between employees, conflict and misunderstanding. These are major issues
that have negative impact on business performance of hospitality industry. Along with this, there
are some recommendations to the hospitality industry about how to manage talent and how to
overcome above mentioned challenges effectively.
Recommendations
There are some effective and essential ways that should be use by Grosvenor Hotel for
managing top talent at workplace. These are understand the power of job description, provide
continuous training and development opportunities, and give back to employees with reward and
recognition. These are consider more effective and useful ways that support hospitality industry
in retention of top talent at workplace. Along with, there are some strategies that must be use by
hospitality organisation for addressing the challenges related with talent management. These
strategies are free floe of communication, development of favourable relationship among
employees and development of effective talent management strategy. These are more essential
ways for an enterprise to maintain long term relationship with employees.
