INTRODUCTION
Employee Relation indicate company's efforts to create and maintain a positive
relationship with its workforce. Through developing and maintaining constructive employee
relations, company hope to keep their staff loyal and more committed to their work. The
organisation that was selected under this project is Morrison’s. It is one of biggest supermarket
that deals in various products related to food, groceries, drinks, clothing, magazines etc. It is the
largest retailing company. It was founded in the year 1899. It was introduced by William
Morrison’s. It has its headquarter in the location of Bradford, England, United Kingdom. In
various different locations it have around four hundred and ninety four stores. The chairman of
the entity is Andrew Higginson and chief executive officer of the company is Davit Potts.
Morrison’s create approx one thousand jobs in Morrison’s local convenience stores & approx
three thousand employee in their new supermarket. In present year i.e. 2021 Morrison’s stop
selling product on plastic bags and also try to remove it from their stores and replace these
plastic bags by paper bags. This decision is taken by Morrison’s in terms to safe the environment
and also for the reason of sustainability. In the report various topics are cover such as value as
well as importance of employee relations, key legislations that make impact to employee relation
along suitable example, right and duties of both employee as well as employer along with most
relevant employment advice. Evaluation of various strategies are also discuss under the
respective assignment. In context to organisation stakeholder analysis are also perform (Argyris,
2017)

VALUE AND IMPORTANCE OF EMPLOYEE RELATION
Employee relation: It shows employees relationship between the parties who are engaged in the
business entity, such as between employer and employee, owner and trade union, employee and
trade union. It tends to make the people comfortable with each other. An individual spend most
of their time in the place of work and also he tends to keep in contact with their colleagues in a
day. Thus every person has different prospect and thoughts so it tends to increase the chances of
misunderstanding & conflict in the working place which create tension and decrease the

satisfactory level of staff which results as to decline individuals productivity. On the other hand
if employees feel comfortable among each other than it tends to create healthy relationship.
Healthy relationship between workers goes long way to motivate as well as to improve the
morale & confidence level. Healthy employee relation make their day fresh and with strong bond
it tends to develop feeling of happiness.
value of employee relation in terms to employee loyalty, dedication, productivity,
motivation: In the situation when there is presence of good relation between employee and
employer than it tends to boost up the morale of workers. If employer give their staff members
opportunity to express view and share their innovative ideas and knowledge than it leads to
develop good feeling in employee which make the workforce more loyal towards their employer
or firm. As it create feeling among employee to not share critical information of company to
outsiders or competitors. As in Morrison’s discussions are made with employees at the time of
taking important decision making which develop feeling to workforce that they are value in the
company. It tends to improve dedication of employees towards work which make positive impact
on productivity. These features leads to increase the chances of business survival.
Negative aspect of employer employee relation
Extreme level of relationship leads to increase gossips or not maintain discipline in the
office. For instance it tends to distract employees from work. Some time if both of them have
strong bond than chances of partiality, unfair practices are raise. Which make the office a place
of politics. In the organisation all the individual are work as a team. As in the situation of
Procrastination, it tends to force members of the team at last minute to finalize a project. It give
to employees unnecessary stress which put negative impact on their performance. Bullying is
the common activity perform by person with their co partners which tends to demoralise the
person as it develop feeling of complex in individual that makes negative impact on their
performance which indirectly affects business also (Colenso, 2012)
It is very important for every organisation to maintain healthy relation with their
workforce because it is not possible in organisation that all the work are handle by single person
or by only staff members of one department as all the work are interrelated with each other.t thus
individual cannot work alone he need people around. As isolated environment tends to
