INTRODUCTION
Mangers and leaders provide effective planning and controlling of management along
with process for which they are responsible in order to accomplish the goal of organisation this
can be generated similar to attitudes in their team this engagement of top management is
powerful in order to gain success and development in business unit. In which effective team
management is ability of an individual or an organisation in order to coordinate a group for
preforming task effectively (NHS England, 2016). In which the present report is based on NHS
health and service sector. It is a government firm which offers services to individual related to
health and safety. Present report consists two task in which initial task holds discussion about
various roles and characteristics of leaders along with manger are covered as well as
characteristics of leaders and managers for effectively managing the partnership is carried out.
Additionally, key approaches of partnership working with the role that managers and leaders
play in company also analysis of partnership for high quality services within legislative
boundaries will included. Other task covers reflection on impact of partnership and effectiveness
in minimizing barriers is discussed.
MAINBODY
TASK 1
Compare different roles and characteristics of leaders along with mangers.
Management of an organisation is carried on by various roles and characteristics of
managers as well as leaders. Managers are allocators of resources in an organisation. Also they
make sure productivity of companies are not compromised with scarcity of resources. Therefore,
a manager is the one responsible for operations and proper allocation of resources in every
department.
On the other hand, leaders are the supervisors or top staff of the firm who are the decision
takers and oversee successful running of processes in organisation. NHS is one such companies
that defines roles of both managers and leaders and has multiple public ally- funded systems of
healthcare (Law and et.al., 2018) The institution from UK also has been contributing in dealing
with COVID-19 , running various campaigns and programs related to care planning and

processes. Many responsibilities are taken by managers and leaders today for spreading
awareness to larger population outside discussed in the following points:
Manager roles: Anything impacting the operations of a firm, are dealt and evaluated by
a spokesperson representing the chosen entity that is a manager. Be it a conference at NHS or
discussion , manager is the one who portrays an the organisation's image by monitoring all
activities and benefits to the entity. From starting till the end of the conference, all things are in
line with goals of the meeting or not is analysed and controlled by a manager (Young and
Snowden, 2020). At many times there are negotiations on how to bring improvement in
productivity levels of organisation. In such situations, manager gets involved in drafting rules
and regulations for governing all activities of care accordingly in the firm.
Characteristics of manager: For successful implementation of decisions and plans ,
NHS makes sure that manager should be creative in coming up with new strategies according to
the technological up-gradation in various systems of healthcare. Also manager should be patient
enough to tolerate difficult circumstances and recover in time accordingly. Commitment is also a
significant characteristic that keep them be one step higher in any way leading towards success
of the selected organisation.
Leaders roles: These are the team builders of unity and transformation in any
organisation. Managers may set the rules but employee affairs are best taken care of by the
leaders. Harmonizing set goals with staff members is what leaders do for quality outcome with
efforts combined. A leader helps its followers in making a successful strategy for
accomplishment of goals and also posses qualities like motivation to subordinates, trust building
among stake-holders, creating terms and innovation etc.
Characteristics of leaders: Leaders have the ability to inspire others in an organisation.
Hereby, NHS selects leaders who have a vision and confidence to deal with challenging
circumstances related to healthcare planning and processes (Benoot and et.al., 2020). A positive
attitude towards every situation good or bad defines open-mindedness of the leader. How
enthusiastic leader is influences their followers to achieve a specific common goal.
Therefore, A manager manages activities of organisation whereas a leader is an influencer to its
team members in achievement of a certain goal.

Discussion about characteristic of leaders and managers.
Mangers is an individual that is responsible for all managerial and administrative
activities that includes motivation, supervising and directing individual of company. Whereas
leaders are those individuals who have capability to mange all human resources in term of
guidance and leading. In context of this they both have some obligation and authority within the
firm for managing all team within company. In which the main role that is performed by manger
of company is take responsibility on the basis of skills and knowledge. On the basis of that the
main characteristic that they have is problem solving (McAndrew, Schiffman and Leske, 2020). They
have ability to resolves all problems of employees within company they aid their workers to
create solution of various problems that they are facing while performing any function. Time
management is another characteristic that is adapted by mangers of company as well as mangers
need to haver effective communication skills in order to convey and passes information to all
individual of company related with the work.
Apart from this the characteristic that is adhere by leaders of company is that they are risk
takes as they mainly relies to bring innovation and creation in company for attaining growth and
development as well as for gaining competitive advantages at marketplace. Additionally they are
those individual who develops vision for the team members in order to attain common goal of
company as well as leaders need to be optimistic in order to gain advantages of various
opportunities and creates positive environment in company. Another characteristic that is adhere
by leaders of any company is that decision making, in context of HNS their leaders have courage
in order to carry out various functions which involves high risk. So all these are the characteristic
that which need to behave in leaders in order to carry out all function and task effectively within
the firm with the aim of gaining all pre-defined goal of company.
Discuss key approaches to partnership working and role that leaders and mangers play.
In a company both leader and mangers play vital role in order to improve performance of
employees along with company so that goal can be achieved within small time frame. For this it
is important for them to be aware about roles and authorities. In which the purpose of partnership
is to deliver better services of huge number of peoples. In which there are primary four model of
partnership working that brings from networking and all these are as follows:
Networking model: It is simple model of partnership in which organisation meet up on
regular basis in order to share practices and to carry out discussion about commonality areas. In

this thee is not commitment to go further sunless two or more company decide to go. The aim is
for company to become able for take up opportunities that may be arise such as funding or
delivering specific services to clients (Blenman and Marks-Maran, 2017).
Referral system: This is another model of partnership that is adhere by companies with the
of role of manger and leaders that they play within company. In this model a specific purpose is
set which enables inter-organisational referrals as refers clients to other agency agree on process
in order to shares information and it might be written form although it would be more normal to
just agree on procedure and methods that they use.in context of NHS firm they also carry out this
type of partnership in order to reduces the risk and cost that might it involved in performing task
individually. As well as it saves lot of time in repeating the gathering information and carry put
their operation effectively.
Consortium models: This model of partnership relies to offers mutually benefits to all
parties such as jointly bedding for resources or joining forces that act as pressure group. In which
it might be written agreement like financial contracts if funding bid is successful. Companies
may undertake their work separate.
Analyse values of partnership working in achieving high quality services within legislative
boundaries.
There are many benefits that noticed in relation to intermediate or partnership in order to
achieve high quality services. In which some of values are as follows:
On the basis of social care act 2012, HNS has duty to promote and secure partnership in order to
take care of patients as well as for improving the quality of services and that considered as
primal benefit of partnership. Along with this it reduces the inequalities in accessing the services
or for improving the results.
Apart from this another value of partnership is it improves the information that is shared by
patients of hospital, support peoples to remain their home by which the image of hospital will
increase in front of patients and that ultimately enhances the profitability of company along with
it improves the quality of services (Coleman and et.al., 2020). Partnership increase the
knowledge about lease, expertise, as well as the resources that are available to market in order to
offer better services to patients. A right partnership will increase ethos of business. So all these
are the values that is analysed within legislative boundaries in order to attain high qualitive
services.

TASK 2
Discuss impacts of positive partnership working across services on outcomes for service users.
According to my view point, positive partnership offers various types of benefits while
performing in service industry. Some of the benefits that I have analysed that, it enhances the
productivity along with profitability of company by reducing the risk factor. Here risk refers to
any uncertainty that might arises while performing any task related to work. Additionally, the
two hand are better than a single hand as it includes two mind that holds different ideas,
knowledge skills in order to perform task in effective manner. As well as positive impact of
partnership provides strength to establish and start business at lower cost, in context of service
industry it givens strengthen to all partners to carry out work effectively. partnership can result to
situation where in committed workers will deliver improved services to the services users and
that will consequently improve the well beings of users. I have learned that positive outcome
improves services, empowerment, autonomy along with informed decision making.
Empowerment in health and social care refers to authorize or enables staff, take cares and
peoples who are being take care of (Wallerstein and et.al., 2017). This make sures that everyone
has freedom to make their own choices and have right to take decision about right or wrong.
Good partnership between various health and social care companies promotes empowerment and
independence in services users. Similarly, I m sure that the patients and staff doesn’t lose their
individuality and give proper attention to all patients. I have felt individuality which ensures that
everyone has independent in order to select whatever I am feeling is best and suites to them. All
these allowed to take decision and that aid management to come up with a plan that suits every
individual. So all these are the positive impacts that I have felt while carry out partnership across
services.
Discuss how own contribution affect on the work of a team
It is stated that working with in a team is more productive as compare to the working
individually. In addition to this, it is analysed by me that working individually did not bring more
creativity and innovation as a group of people brings it effectively and successfully. There are
some of the activities that is implemented and processed by a group of members not by an
individual person such as writing a new brochure, planning an organisation meeting, developing
policies and many more. I am working with the project of National Health service as a social and

health care team member. The organisation provide health service to the poor people who cannot
afford to take their treatment because of lack of funds and resources. This help organisation to
enhance the situations of societies and improve the well-being of people. Working as a team
member allow me to involve in each and every activity of organisation and put efforts to achieve
objectives of organisation. NHS is associated with almost 20 different charities who provide
funds in order to execute their activities regarding the improvement of health of people (Morse,
2020). In order to implement activities within the team, It is analysed by me that working within
a team require patience as well as high coordination in order to implement activities and attain
positive results. While working in a team, I have faced issues as I am not able to develop
relationship with other team members and also the team members are not agree with others view
point. This arise a conflict in team members and also decline the level of potential to execute the
activities. As a team members, it is realised by me that working together will only help in
implementing social and health care activities and meeting with objectives of organisation as the
working of single person will not working in attaining objectives. It is analysed by me that my
communication and interaction is good because of which I developed relationship with team
members. On the other side, the other team members have skills that is time management,
problem-solving, technical skills and many more. Collaboration of all such skills allow team to
execute or perform activity related to social and health care activities of National Health service.
Moreover, It is assumed by me that teamwork enhance the accountability of every person who
are the part of team especially at the time when working under senior who give a lot of
commands. Furthermore, it help me to learn from the experienced employees who is already the
part of organisation and has the knowledge about social and health care activities. It is analysed
by me that teamwork affords me the opportunity to deal with the challenges and resolve all the
issues which directly contributes towards the completion of activities. It is also determined by
me while working in team that my working efficiency is enhanced and also the ability to tackle
projects as well. Teamwork reduces the work pressure of every team member that allows in
completion of the assigned of activities. According to my view point, it is analysed by me that I
had put all my skills, capabilities and knowledge level in achieving team activities and it will hep
me in both my personal as well as professional development.

Analyse own effectiveness in minimising barriers to effective team working
At the time of working in a team, there are barriers that decline the productivity and
efficiency which negatively influence on the overall results. The main barriers that arise within
the team is lack of trust, disagreements among team members, individual shrinking their duties,
non-clarity of activities, improper knowledge, ineffective problem solving skill, poor
communication and many more. In every team, there is occurrence of conflicts and barriers and
to deal with them in a proper manner only allow in achieving of objectives and meeting with the
targets. With the help of my communication skills, I am able to clarify the roles as well as
responsibilities to the every team member because of which activities are properly implemented.
The informal sessions can be organised as it help in developing trust among the team members
and also help team members to understand others perception or view point and is consider as a
way of declining the barrier that is lack of trust (Cheng and Catallo, 2020). With the help of
training and development session, the activities that is required to be perform by team members
will be clarify which in turn impact positively on the performance and productivity of team
members. In order to decline the barrier within the team, it is important for the team members to
participate in every activity and discussion that can only take place when leader allow team
members to give their opinions and suggestion at the time of decision making. It also make every
member feel valued and important to be the part of team which enhance their level of interest
and potential towards execution of activities.
It is analysed by me that establishment of interpersonal and open communication will
lead team member to understand their roles and clear it in their mind set. I have good conflict
management skills which enable me to resolve the issue that arise in the team and maintain a
level of performance of respective organization (Heenan and Birrell, 2017). By the assistance of
my effective presentation skills, I am able to deliver right and appropriate information to the
team members which impact on their level of efficiency and performance in a positive manner.
Working with the experienced people in the team allow me to gain knowledge about concepts
related to the organisation and because of this I can assist other team members to raise their
knowledge and information level. All this will assist organisation in execution of activities and
maintenance of string relationship among the ream members that leads to raise in performance
and brand image of the respective organisation.

CONCLUSION
From above discussed report it has been concluded that mangers and leaders play essential
role within company in order to manage all operation along with human resources of company so
that they will effectively attain pre-defined goal within small timeframe. in relevance to this it is
vital for them to have some specific characteristics for manging all roles and responsibility. In
that situation there are various model of partnership that aids them for fulfilling that goal or
objective. Additional from this report it can be summarised that there are multiple number of
benefits of partnership within service industry.
