Recruitment and selection
Recruitment:
It refers to finding candidates for the organization so that vacancy can be filled. It means
right candidates should be searched for the right position. Human resource give advertisement to
attract candidates for the vacancy. After receiving the application, all the application is matched
will the requirement of position and then selected candidates are called for the interview. If the
wrong candidate is hired by HR then it will incur loss to the organization. As hiring of candidates
is the expense.
Types of recruitment:
internal recruitment:
Internal recruitment means when candidate are recruited within the organization. It
further involves promotion of existing employee of the company to higher position. Taking
referral from existing employees. Company even recruit retired employees to fulfil immediate
need of the company.
Strength:
It is less expensive as company will hire from the organization only. It is less time-consuming as
compare to external recruitment (Soelton, 2018). Company will get such employees which are
already familiar with the culture of the company.
Weakness:
Company will not get young and creative talent. There is possibility of biasness by higher
authority.
External recruitment:
External recruitment means company hire candidates from outside of the organization.
Company carry this process by giving advertisement, college placement, internships, job fairs,
employment agencies etc.
strength:
Company will get opportunity to hire talented employees which have innovative knowledge and
skills. It will also help in lowering workplace politics. Chances of getting highly motivated
workforces.
