“An investigation into the issue of equality and diversity in the workplace”.
Introduction
The preset study purpose to investigating the issue of equivalence and diverseness at
workplace. Sameness and diverseness are recognized as the key term which are effectively
considered by the business concern to accomplish maturation and sustainability at market place.
Equality and diversity are significantly relevant aspect and very much relay upon the concept of
ensuring the businesses that each individual has the same access to gain opportunities and
promotions without any bias or discrimination being performed by the business or its
management (Ackermann and Winston, 2019). In the present report Asda is the selected
company, thus it is a large British supermarket retailer which has its global operations. The
headquarter of the firm is in Leeds, West Yorkshire. The firm has founded in the year of 1949.
The study aim to analysing the influence of ethic and cultural differences on the overall
performance and productivity of the firm. In this aim and impersonal are efficacious in supplying
help to the work in correct way along with this suitable project administration program assists in
providing suitable specification regarding the activities which are requires to be done in
investigation. In addition to this, suitable methodologies are selected for assisting investigation
analysis in accurate way to arrival at possible result. Furthermore, recommendation has been
provided over the findings of the report.
TASK 1
P1. Project aims and objectives
The existing investigation into consideration is based on diversity which includes ethics
and cultural differences and how its affects the functional structure of an organisation. Therefore,
ethics and culture are recognised as the key issue which which has direct influence over the
operations and performance of the business. In the recent business concern era, the primal
purpose of businesses is to accomplish high maturation and prosperity via improvising ethical
and cultural differences at workplace, However, differences related with culture and ethics

affects the functional structure, in the manner of lacking coordination and collaboration among
employees (Aiyer, Panigrahi. and Das, 2018). Functional is the most appropriate structure which
is implemented by the businesses to conducting suitable execution of operations. thus in The
context of Asda, functional organisational structure is effective as it is promoting suitability and
effective execution of operations in systematic manner at work place. Asda Stores Ltd, is large
British grocery store retail merchant which is mainly trading as Asda. The headquarter of the
firm is in Leeds, West Yorkshire England. The company was founded by the potential efforts of
Peter and Fred Asquith Sir Noel Stockdale in the year of 1994. The company mainly deals in
Grocery, financial services and general merchandising. The company has around 1,65,000
employees who are working for enhancing business sustainability at market place. The company
is having diversified workforces, and facing issues related with ethics and cultural difference,
Thus the key consideration of the business is to reducing the influence of diversity through
managing ethics and cultural differences at work place. Ethic and culture difference is recognised
as the issues related with workplace diversity. Therefore, culture diversity is arises when
differences occurs in ethnicity, race, nationality, language, religion and sexual orientation.
Ethnicity is defined as the culture of individual in a given geographic region, involving their
heritage, customs, religion and language. On the other hand, cultural diversity works have
assorted opinion, beliefs, thoughts, norms, values, customs and traditions. The leading intellect
for organising the investigation is the individualised involvement of investigator as the
researcher deprivation to investigate their own thought and cognition base which could be
beneficial for them in attaining future growth (Bell and Harrison, 2018). This investigator is
effective in intensify the ability and cognition of learner and researcher in regards to the chosen
subject area. Proper analysis is being executed via the support of aim and objectives and the key
aim and objectives are described as below:

P2. Project management plan.
A project management plan defined as an effective process through which assigning an
order to all the essential elements includes in the plan. Project management plan is effective in
providing suitable assistance to the researcher to implement all investigation activities in
systematic manner. The project management plan is mainly encompasses over cost, time, quality,
scope, therefore these are effective in suitably completion of the project. The elements of project
management plan are associated as below:
Cost: In the execution of an investigation work, researcher mainly relay upon cost management,
therefore, it is important for the researcher to have appropriate amount of funds and capital to
conduct all investigation activities in proper manner (Bryson, 2017). In the case of insufficient
capital and funds the quality of research will hamper and the researcher would not able to
complete the work within decided time. In the present case, investigation is executed over Asda,
and the researcher have maintain appropriate amount of fund in around 85000 which is enought
to conduct all the activities in proper manner. The cost categorisation of this present work is
associated as below:

Scope: The study has wider scope as the investigation is based on analysing the impact of ethic
and cultural differences on the overall performance and productivity of an organisation. Thus
cultural diversity negatively as well as positively affects the working of an organisation. This
study create benefit to the researcher in providing detailed analysis over the chosen subject area
and the firm will get benefits in terms of determining the ways to reduce the issues related with
cultural and ethics differences.
Time: This refers as the key aspect of project management plan, thus it is mainly recognised by
the researcher in suitable implementation of investigation action to complete the work within
decided time. The activities of investigation are needs to be prioritise with a specified time so
that completion of the work can be done within selected duration (Haddud, McAllen and
DeSouza, 2018). Therefore, the investigator of Asda has estimated 5 Months to complete the
project via gathering appropriate information. Organisational Structure : In the present investigation, functional structure is considered
by the researcher so that they can conduct the whole research in an effective manner. In
the current research, this type of structure will assist in order to execute the practices
related to equality & diversity.
Quality: Quality of the investigation is mainly associated through the accuracy and relevancy of
the info which are collected from the assorted origins. In the present research work, data will be
concentrated through relevant sources, so that it would be easy for the investigator to reach at the
key result. For m aintaining as well as controlling the quality of investigation, various
techniques are adopted by the researcher. Control chart refers to a graphical presentation
adopted by investigator so that they can identify the whole process which changes by each
passing time. Whereas, flow chart is defined as specific diagram which assist in preparing
workflow of project. In addition to this, it is one of the most effective and appropriate
approach used by investigator so that they can perform their work in a rightful manner.
Furthermore, quality control chart is considered as one of the effective graphical chart which
assist in identifying whether the present procedure is meeting the requirements or not.
