INTRODUCTION Human resource management is considered to be as important business practices. Thesuccess and growth of an organisation is completely based on the skilled posed by humanresource manager and the activities performed by them (Bailey, Mankin, Kelliher and Garavan,2018.). Human resource is administrative practices which involves recruitment and managementof people. In dynamic and competitive business environment the role as well as responsibility ofhuman resource manger has increased. There are few practices of human resource managerwhich can assist firm in gaining the competitive advantage these are high wages, employmentsecurity, unique team and job redesign etc. The purpose of research report is to analyse the way human resource management canenhance competitive advantage in context of marks and Spencer. Study will have emphasizes onexamining the way human resource management practices have impact on the competitiveadvantage of an enterprise. Over view of organisation Marks and Spencer is a multinational British organisation operating business in retailsector. Business entity specialises in selling clothes, luxury food and home products. Anorganisation has approx. 979 retail outlets worldwide which provides firm an ease in deliveringgoods or services to large number of customers. Marks and Spencer has team of approx. 84939highly skilled and talented employees which has helped an enterprise in achieving success. Anorganisation has highly efficient as well as resourceful team of human resource manager this isthe reason all the activities within an enterprise are running smoothly. Human resource managerin marks and Spencer employees diverse workforce which has helped an enterprise indifferentiating itself from competitors (Jaiswal, 2018). Unique management training schemersare launched by HR for graduates and in order to fulfil vacancy through internal recruitment. Anorganisation makes Huge capital investment in development of its employees while othercompanies such as Tesco invest financial resources on marketing activity. Human resourcemanager in marks and Spencer has adopted the Talent Philosophy for ensuring that brightcandidates are placed at right position. In context of performance management, HR managerinvolves employees in the procedure and facilitates discussion with them . Objectives:To assess the positioning of marks and Spencer in retail sector.To determine the extent up to which recruitment, selection and training policies of marksand Spencer meets international requirements. To assess the impact of Policies formulated by marks and Spencer on the competitiveadvantage of marks and Spencer over its competitors. Suggest the ways through which HR manager can create competitive advantage for firm.P2. Project management planProject management plan is the document which consists of information about thedifferent activities which will be executed in order to accomplish desired objectives. It helpsresearcher in identifying the risk or challenges which might occur in conducting the investigationprocess on specific topic (Turner, Cardinal and Burton, 2017.). This plan also provides manageran ease in managing the project. An effective project management plan covers the variousaspects of the project such as :Costs: It can be referred to as the expenses which are to be incurred by scholar or organization inorder to implement specific project. There are basically two types of costs these are fixed andvariable which are associated with execution of project. In context of present study, the variousexpenses associated with execution of research are money is required for purchasing resourcessuch as stationery, communication devices etc. In addition to this, other costs include Travelingexpenses, printing, communication costs etc. The major costs in context of research is associatedwith making the various arrangements for collection of information.Scope: It is utilized to highlight the most important deliverable of a project. These include themajor milestones, top level requirements, assumptions and limitations. In context of presentstudy has wide scope. It can be utilized by other scholars for conducting the investigation on

Quality: It is the most crucial element of project management plan. Quality is required to beensure while collection of information related to the topic. This factor has direct as well assignificant effect on the outcome of the research. Time: In research all the activities are interrelated with each other and delay in one tasks canlead to time lag. Time management is very much important in order to complete the project ontime. Researcher in present study has formulated time management strategy. Gantt chart hasbeen designed for scheduling of activities. Communication : An effective communication between the different stakeholders is very muchimportant in order to prevent the overlapping of the activity. Smooth flow of information is verymuch essential in order to achieve desired results (Quinlan, Babin, Carr and Griffin, 2019.).Researcher bin present study has used the mobile phones and E-mail to share the informationand for communicating with each other. Resources: Lots of resources such as communication device, finance, manpower, technology,stationery etc., are required for conducting the research. In addition to this, proper allocation ofresources is very much essential in order to complete project without hindrance and in systematicmanner. In context of present study, proper resource plan has been created by investigator andallotment of the resources has been according to the requirement of tasks that are to be executedduring investigation.P3.
