Part A Question 3 β’As an enrolled nurse and part of interdisciplinary team will assist chronic pain management by giving medications to the patient that give relief for patient. β’Other approaches include relaxation techniques, acupuncture, acupressure, massage, exercise, TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation), heat and cold (such as a hot shower or bath, heated pads, ice packs), visualisation, hypnosis, aromatherapy, reflexology, distraction and music therapy, support from social networks, support groups, massage, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). Many of these are selfhelp methods that patients can try. Nurses may also link with psychologists and occupational therapists or physiotherapists
