INTRODUCTION
Significant life events refers to several activities which impact strongly on an individual
and related people. It means the sudden changes in their life events or in their circumstances
which affect their whole life. After this incidents, the individuals life never be the same after the
impact of circumstances. This events naturally happen in human life, sometimes the events may
be unusual or in an expected ways (Bertram, 2018). In context of this essay, it is based on a event
which is happened in tom and sue life. They loss their daughter at her age of 10 years old due to
leukaemia. This event affected on their life including emotionally, individually and socially. In
context of this essay, it will focus on life events impacts on life of an individual. The effects of
life events on others group responses like their support to individuals and support of external
sources like organisation responses and their policies are given below.
TASK 1
1.1
Considering the severe events of life, it has been analysed that it is difficult to understand
situation of a person in context of their emotional and financial status. The some of the life
events are death of a family member, changes in circumstances, relationship issues, illness,
injury and marriage. Many life events occur which changes individuals emotionally, physically
and financially. These changes can lead to changes in their life activities. Many mood changes
occur with in individuals especially on children. The children may feel exhausted, tired and they
can become sleepless. They also suffer lots of pains which happen because of treatments
(Burkard, 2017). The situation of stress and depression is responsible for loss of appetite which
impact negatively on physical as well as psychological health. The individuals and their family
always feel dubious getting the thought of death. In case of patients Jill, the impact of her disease
is effected on her emotionally.
At a small age, she suffered lots of events like changes in her physically and mentally. It
changes on ongoing pattern of life of Jill like changes in her daily activities. She goes to school
daily, meet and play with her friends but due to her disease she cant go to school . She restricted
to do her regular activities because of her state of doing such activities is not befitted. This
impacted on her emotional state. By seeing their daughter suffer, tom and sue are badly effected.
The impact of their daughter's death is adversely effected on each individuals. Due to the loss of

daughter, Sue start being protective to their son. She start feels depression and her loss of
daughter is affecting her mentally. The mother of given child starts dwelling other thoughts. She
had loss of behaviour among her surroundings things like household works, to connecting other
people and participating socially.
1.2
The signifiant events of life are responsible for creating various kinds of responses from
friends, society and family. In respect to family, they give the moral support to the individual in
a loss of a family member or any incident. A person can get a very strong and effective support
from family members in terms of overcome with specific life event. There are many associates
are involve who help recover individuals from sad events by involving them in various mind
changing and enthusiast activities (Coll and Fortinsky, 2019). Some of the communication media
help people to share their events. In health care services, the nurses are available to help the
patient so that they can share their problems properly.
In case of patient, the parents were not socially engage and live far from their family
much so this affected during their daughters treatments. So they cant receive any type of support
from their friends and doesn't receive any type of financially and emotionally support from their
friends. The manager of organisation in which her mother was working, they assured her of
giving flexible hours so that she can expand her financial status for treatment. The parents
receive support from social group at their initial phase, after the death of patient but when the
mother did not come to term they take help of professional counselling. So these groups helped
the patient's family after the death of daughter. The health professional help the family in every
aspect. They were very care and protective in respect to the patient and her family.
1.3
When the patient experience life events, it is also affected on others which are
emotionally engage to the patient. Disease not only affect individually, it also effect surrounding
people. Like friends and family who give patient to being optimize during their treatment are
also effected of events as there are concerned about your health (De Haene and et. al., 2018). As
in case of this patient, her mother is badly affected from her disease and death. The sudden event
in their life badly impacted on their mentally as they lose their daughter at a very small age. Her
mother had a fear of loss of her daughter so she resign her job just to live with his daughter.
