Subject: Regarding the mid –term examinations being missed
Respected sir,
Due to an emergency at home I was unable to give the mid –term exam that took place last
Friday. On Thursday itself, I was called home as my grandfather was not well. As soon as I
arrived, we had to rush him to an ER as he was having difficulty breathing.
I was even planning on coming back the same night as I had my mid –term the next day, but
none of the family members were around to take care of him at the hospital. He is someone
who is very close to me and I just could not leave him like that in the middle of a struggling
period and come back to the university. This is why my mother and I stayed the night so that
we could help him out if required. He was in constant critical care for the next day and was
discharged today. As soon as he was discharged, I settled him down and returned. I even
though of calling or telling you about it, but it all happened so fast and it was way past 1 am,
this is why I could not inform you.
I know this is no excuse for missing an exam and personal issues are not catered to, but I
request you to give me a chance as I did prepare myself for this exam. If there is any chance
of me being marked through an extra make up assignment or anything, I am up for it. I will
try my best that this kind of situation does not arise again, but, for this last time I want you to

consider my situation and help me through it. I haven’t been a lazy student or delayed any
projects till now, at least not intentionally; this is why I want you to consider this as the first
and the last time.
I just hope to hear from you soon and specially a positive reply will help me out from this
whole fiasco. I promise I will try to do the best possible thing and if provided an opportunity,
it will help me out with the finals as well.

Subject: Regarding the email scam
Dear Sir,
I received an email on 19th February from XYZ bank, where they stated that our account has
still a balance of $ 5047.98 whereas; the loan we took from the bank has already been repaid
in full along with all the interest and taxes. Despite the fact that the amount has already been
paid, we have been receiving constant emails regarding the issue. It has also been stated in
the email that the amount that is due will be recovered from us by their collection team after a
period of 30 days.
To tell you about us, we are a family of four, I took the loan to buy the house for us to live in.
The instalments regarding the loan that I took were already paid off last month, yet we have
been constantly receiving emails from this bank stating that our amount is due. I have all the
proofs with me and if required, I can send them to you as well.
In fact, yesterday a few people came by as well stating that they are from the bank and
wanted us to repay the due loan amount. I had to threaten them to call 911 to get these people
to move from our property. This has gone way too far. I am not sure as to how this needs to
be dealt with apart from talking to you people. We need assistance right away. People have
been calling us and they also have been emailing us every day regarding the due amount. I

have all the receipts of the payments I made to the bank and all the other documents as well. I
even contacted the bank regarding the issue, but they said it was not on their end and the
email was not sent from any of their so registered email ID’s.
Hence, in order to deal with this situation, we need your help and want you to take an action
with regards to the situation here. Our bank advised us to report all of this to your
organization as you help prevent frauds and take action against any such suspicious activity. I
have been a good citizen of the country and have been paying my due in time. Apart from
any misunderstandings, there haven’t been any bigger financial issues before. I have no clue
as to why I am being targeted here. Please assist us before there is any action taken against
us.

hand and all our finances are being watched now and we have lost the sense of security of
utilizing our finances.
