1URBAN MIGRATIONIn the recent time, one of the major and notable trends identified is the urbanization andmass migration of the rural people to the cities and towns. This trend is increasing at more rapidrate in the recent time. However, it should also be noted that urban migration of the rural peoplewill have more negative impact than the positive impacts (De Brauw, Mueller and Lee 2014).Thus, the long term impact of the urban migration will be negative both for the rural areas andurban areas. This report will discuss about the reasons of the rapid growth in the urban migrationin the recent time. This is important to identify due to the reason that without identifying the corereasons of the urban migration, recommendations cannot be provided. This essay will alsodiscuss about the impact of the urbanization along with the potential solutions to overcome theseissues. The core reason of urban migration is the opportunity of earning more money in theurban areas compared to the rural regions. This is due to the reason that urban areas includingmetro cities and towns are the hub of the business organizations. These organizations are havingthe need of different level of employees including both the skilled and unskilled labor. However, urban population is having majorly the skilled employees. Therefore, people from the rural areasmigrate to the cities in order to fill this gap (Buch et al. 2014). In addition, in majority of thecases it is seen that the earnings from being the unskilled employees are more compared to therural earnings. 2URBAN MIGRATIONquality of life (Tacoli, McGranahan and satterthwaite 2015). Staying in the urban areas will helpthe rural people to have the easy access to the cheaper food and shelter along with quality healthand education. All these factors are motivating the rural people to migrate towards the urbanareas in search of the enhanced lifestyle. In many cases, there are various instances, where rural people come to urban areas forwork and goes back to their home at the end of the day. But in some cases, the distance betweenthe rural and urban regions is much and it is not possible to commute on the daily basis. In thesecases, rural people tend to stay back in their place of work. This is leading to the mass migrationof the rural people to the urban areas. Education quality and sources are increasing in the ruralsector also. This is leading to the access of quality education of the rural younger generation. Thus, qualified younger generation is less interested to continue with the agricultural work intheir rural land. On the other hand, these qualified generations are looking for jobs and highereducation to pursue (Li et al. 2013). This is leading to the migration of them to the urban areasdue to the reason that only the urban cities and towns are having the facilities to the highereducation and diverse jobs. In the major developing economies, another key reason for migration of the rural peopleis the family tradition. For instance, someone from a particular rural family migrated to the urbancity and got settled there. Afterwards, it becomes the trend of that particular family to migrate tothe cities whether it is necessary or not. Thus, this family trend is also leading to the increase inthe number of the rural population in the urban areas. It should also to be noted that there aredifferent job opportunities in the urban areas, which are still attracting huge number of ruralpopulation. One of the key impacts of urban migration is the inadequate supply of the labor forthe agricultural process. This is due to the reason that economy of the rural areas mainly depends
