1PROVISION OF HEALTH-CARE BY U.S. GOVERNMENT
Health-care and sufficient provisions for health-care are extremely important for any
person’s well being anywhere in the World. The actions of taking the preventative or necessary
medical procedures for the improvement of the well-being of a person come under the concept of
health-care. “These services are typically offered by a health-care system made up of hospitals
and physicians”. The topic of health-care is complicated and the policies related to the topic are
difficult to implement and it involves the considerations of the different stakeholders. A widely
debated topic is whether the U.S. Government should provide health-care to the citizens.
The topic of discussion in this case has entailed a debate for the past century with not
much of a clear resolution regarding whether to guarantee healthcare for every individual. For
the past several decades, medicine had advanced from a sort of rudimentary craft to a sort of
scientific pursuit capable of near miracles. A substantial proportion of the American population
do not possess any sort of health insurance based on the central bureau. The increasing amount
of people without insurance raised the concern for the problem. The Americans have not been
able to reach at a unified decision as to what the American government should do in order to
ensure that the health of the citizens is protected. Health care is an extremely valuable service
and it is a valuable method of protection of patients from high costs of the healthcare system.
This is done by spreading of the costs of healthcare among a variety of people who are willing to
share the risks of their medical expenses in the future (West and Lyubovnikova).
There are different opinions on the issue of the health care and the health care facilities
which can be provided by the U.S. government. Certain people consider that the Government
needs to provide health care facilities to the people, on the other hand, other people consider that
it will imply increased expenses for the government. Among the Americans, majority opine that
the government should indeed provide health-care facilities for the citizens. It has been argued

by many that every citizen at a certain point of time, contributes to the society in a particular way
or another. In certain cases there are prisoners who get free healthcare do nothing except
contributing negatively to the society. In this particular argument it can be stated that the people
who obey all the laws and are not promised any kind of healthcare coverage, are rather
compromised on. The people who are rightful and abide by the laws need to get access to the
different nature of health care facilities available. The government needs to give an assurance to
the neediest citizens and those people who are unable to take care of themselves due to whatever
circumstances. In case people are unable to afford health care they cannot be left to die which is
the opinion of a certain set of individuals. In case the individuals are dependent and unable to
afford the high costs of medical services they need to be provided with healthcare facilities
(Glasgow et al.).
Therefore it can be said that the two major reasons the government needs to provide
universal healthcare is due to the protection of life and the economic benefits. In this particular
debate the highest importance needs to be given to human life. A government which is just needs
to ensure that the citizen’s right to life is given the highest priority. In this connection it can be
said that the best method to ensure this is to provide a way of universal healthcare for all citizens.
Healthcare needs to be universal as it is related to each and every citizen’s right to safety. In case
universal healthcare is provided a citizen is bound to feel that his or his dignity is respected by
the government. Thus it can safely be said that universal healthcare protects human life (Evans
and Campos).
Another crucial reason the government needs to provide healthcare is due to the provision
of the economic benefits. This is because, the universal healthcare system provides financial
benefits. The government should also take care of the economy. “Economy gives an influence to
