INTRODUCTIONOrganization change refers to a procedure which is adopted by a company in order tochange or update their strategies, technology, culture, process and other activities. Through thiscompany able to attain their objective in effective manner (North and Kumta, 2018).Organization taken in for respective project is Unilever which belongs to consumer goodsindustry and it was founded in 1929 as well as its headquarter is in London, United kingdom. Itoffers its wide range of products i.e. personal care, food and beverage and many more at worldwide level. Topics included in this report are introduction about organization, its organisationalstructure, concept of organisational design and two approaches related to HR function. Alongwith this it will include evaluation of internal and external environment by using approaches. TASK 1P1 Importance of organization design theory in respect of its structure and strategiesUnilever is a dual listed public limited company as well as British Dutch multinationalconsumers goods industry. Its headquarter is situated in London, UK and Rotterdam,Netherlands. Its merchandise includes beauty products like Aviance, FDS, Tholl etc., food andrefreshment such as Alsa, Lyons, Ben & Jerry and so on. Along with this it also sells cleaningproducts such as Biotex, Brilhante, Omo, Neutral etc., as well as personal care products likeLinic, Vibrance, Vaseline, White beauty and so on. Unilever is the oldest industry operatingworldwide such as in Denmark, Spain, Canada, Colombia and so on. The respective company isoperating in consumer good services which offer variety of products range such as personal careproducts, food and beverage and many more. It was founded on 2 September 1929 by WilliamLever, 1st Viscount Leverhulme, James Darcy Lever, Samuel van den Bergh, Georg Schichy andSingrose. It has approx 150000 employees working in the industry. Unilever chairman is MarjinDekkers and CEO is Alan Jope. Organization structure refers to outline of system that provide guidelines that how aparticular work will done so that it will completed in effective manner and leads to attainment ofgoal and objective. It will include various activities such as role, responsibilities, rules and manymore (Chudzikowski, 2012). Along with this it will also describe about how information ormessage flows from one level to different in a company. Functional is define as structure which follow top todown method and in this organization have specialised department for every functions.Divisional structure is unit in which each and every division are delegated on the basis ofproducts range, location, customer and technology. Matrix is structure in which there iscombination of self contained unit as well as functional unit. Organization structure which isadopted by Unilever is matrix organisational structure (Unilever,2019.). In this structure anindividual report to more than one employer or superior as well as in this organisational structureis defined as solid line or dotted line reporting. By adopting this strategy respective companyable to provide effective training to their strategic manager as well as it also enhanceeffectiveness of functional manager.Organization design is defined as a procedure which is use to align organisationalstructure of a company which help in attaining objective and aim in effective manner. Throughthis company also able to improve its procedure as well as it also help in enhancing profitabilityratio and market shares. This is so because employees get a proper guideline that how they haveto conduct their work so that they attain their target. There are various advantage oforganisational design which can be gain by Unilever such as enhance productivity, improvecommunication, adopt new technology, improve procedure and many more (Schwabenland,2016). Organization design strategy which is develop by respective company is that they aregoing to improve their manufacturing process through advance technology that leads tominimum wastage. Organization structure of Unilever support its strategy for organisationaldesign in various ways such as through matrix structure they able to utilize resources in effectivemanner. Along with this, it is also by this structure manager's get capable to flow all informationto their employees in effective manner. Through this company able to attain their target as wellas objective properly by matrix organisational structure.
