company can recruit talented employed in the company which positively impacts the

It is also observed that if the employer and employees are positive business ethical standards an
are not involved in illegal activities will tend to create a good image of the company in the
market which will positively impact the company's sales. The company is bound to comply with
the rules and guidelines enacted by the law associated with the business ethics as it not complied
will decrease the brand image of the company and customer base in the market.

than 900 stores that is located in many countries and out of which 600 stores are located in UK.
The company is one of the brands that is moving towards creating higher ethical standards. The
organization has faced various ethical issues which had negative impact on the image of the
company affecting its sales. These issues involved the climate change , human rights , workers
rights etc. The company also scored the best ratings on supply chain management. The company
has also worked in alliance with the other companies like Ethical trading initiative with the
motive of making bigger difference in the supply chain. The company is pursuing its Ethical
framework that is an initiative programme to train 500,000 workers involved in supply chain
in their rights. By following the ethical standards, M&S use many sustainable materials such as

reduce the consumption of water that is used in the production of jeans. Although the company
has faced various issues but they have taken various measures in order to overcome those issues
and moved towards sustainable development by considering the protection of the environment
and also betterment of the society. According to the research it was studies that M&S became
one of the major brands to become carbon neutral and now uses 100% of its electricity from the
renewable resources. The company motivates its employees to work and also appreciate for the
hard work , with the advancement in the technology and using various new methods helps in
efficient utilization of resources and also motivation in the employees which affects its
performance.
Question2 Contribution of businesses to the wider community
Corporate social responsibility is a business model through which the company make
their efforts to operates its business in such ways which helps in the protection of the
environment and also benefits their business. Conducting the CSR activities help in the
protection of the society and also build the brand image of the company. Corporate social
responsibility has become one of the important factors in the business industry . With the help of
CSR strategies the company ensures that the projects undertaken will result in the improvement
of the lifestyle of the people . The company also ensures that the activities undertaken are all
accordance to the provisions of the law. With the motive of serving the community , they
collected the data form the employees, customers and also the stakeholders regarding the
programs that should be implemented for the welfare of the community. The organization also
consider that in order to operate its business effectively it is necessary to comply with the norms
and standard and also preserving the environment(Kim, and Lee, 2019). In 2004, Marks and
Spencer launched a CSR program 'Ready for work' program that focused on offering business
related skill management knowledge to the people so that they start and manage their business as
per their capabilities. The main objective of the company behind this program was to improve
the lifestyle of the people , protection and preserving the environment etc. The CSR activates
implemented by the company has great impact in enhancing the lifestyle of the people and also
positively impacted the brand image of the company. After this initiative , the company focused
development of young unemployed people and students and assisted in providing business skill

Action on Homelessness, Prince's Trust and DisabledGo .To continue involving in performing

In the market of UK soft drink company have to pay the soft drink industry Levy that are
involved in selling the liable drink into the UK from anywhere else. Along with this, the levy
does not apply to company that does not involve sales for liable drinks. Such as transport liable
drinks and providing warehousing. The company need to report drinks that are being produce by
small company and it do not have to pay the levy. Although if company bring liable drink into
market of UK then it need to fulfil an order from an overseas supplier to a UK customer that
need to be registered, report and pay the levy (Humbyrd, 2019). The soft drink company need to
make use of healthy food material so that it does not harm the customer. Along with this,
organization need to give detail about ingredients that contain in drink so that customer has idea
about it. As well as the temperature it need to be store and drink in addition to this, the
packaging of the drink should be sealed packed and no product should be sell to consumer if it is
open. Moreover, the company need to mentioned the price and expiry date on the top so that
customer can identify it and purchase.The ethical consideration that company is following is that

roles and they work effectively in the achievement will helps to increase the production and
results in increase the productivity and sales of the company.
