INTRODUCTION
In a community, health and social care practices are very important. As people being part
of the society are being affected by the different kinds of diseases, thus to cure them it is very
crucial to provide with the best services to cure the patients. Health and social care refers to a
collective term which is responsible for delivering set of services to the patients. Further, it
includes an element of care and caution while serving different types of services to the people.
Hence, it can also be related to the vocational skills and the values involved in serving the
patients (Munn-Giddings and Winter, 2013). Further, providing with the treatment and care to
the patients maintaining an adequate privacy helps to cure the diseases in an efficient manner.
Moreover, personal and professional development is very important for attaining the knowledge
and skills both for the organization and his own career advancement. In the present report,
personal values and principles which influence the contribution to work in heath care are been
determined in detail. Further, measures are taken to produce, monitor , revise plan for the
personal progress is been studied.
TASK 1
1.1
In every organization, personal values have a high contribution for influencing the
professional activity of the person. Further, it mainly includes the elements such as dignity,
respect, confidentiality etc. However, on talking about my own personal set of beliefs, I must
ascertain an attribute of creativity and efficient attitude for taking care of the patients. Further,
this will help me to serve the patients efficiently and makes them comfortable and develop
homely environment at the workplace (Creek and Lougher, 2011). Moreover, the following are
the major factors which makes efficient in working with health care:
 Dignity and Respect- It is a crucial aspect which I have been taught by my parents to
always maintain a dignified nature with core humbleness while interacting with the
people. Further, It has helped me at my professional level as in a health care it becomes
very important to serve the patients with due humbleness so that they can recover fast and
be comfortable at the place.
 Confidentiality and privacy- Health and social care highly recommends to operate in
reliable network of sharing the data with other members. Further, this factor has helped

me to maintain a trustworthy environment which makes patients comfortable while
availing the services in the health care.
1.2
While evaluating my personal culture, I would determine my foremost belief of
maintaining the good quality of services over the quantity. Further, to care of patients in an
efficient manner, I duly prompt about by well behaved culture. It has assisted me to treat all the
patients equally so that no biased environment exist at the workplace. Moreover, during my
journey in serving the people I have gradually met different kinds of people with distinguished
culture and values but with no such issues of dissimilar values (Reeves and et.al., 2011). This is
because the beliefs of the person is been attained from their upbringing which sometimes may
change due to the different situation. Further, it is very important to respect everyone's belief as it
becomes an aid to acknowledge the culture of the person and treat them in the manner which is
appropriate for them. Therefore, according to my own culture and values I try my best to serve
the clients in the most appropriate manner and give them homely environment. Further, on
studying my organizational values, it mainly regard an integrated work culture for serving the
patients and meet their demands.
1.3
There is a huge impact of changes and development on individual's personal values and a
health and social care. Further by introducing the latest priorities as per the legislation will highly
assist in lowering the developing conflicts and tension at the workplace. Under this, anti
discrimination law is the core act which will assist in maintaining the common rights of the
people. It mainly includes the individuals with different gender, race, creed etc. due to which
some of the patients are kept for the unprotected status for the exposure of their identity while
availing the services at healthcare (Glogowska and et.al., 2011).
Further, being a part of a health care provider, its my core objective to protect my clients
from any type of discrimination which is related to their individual rights. I must make sure that
the quality services are been provided to the clients and make them comfortable so that they feel
homely environment. Thus, it becomes important to have an efficient relation and open
communication with the patients so as to understand their privileged components.

3.2
My personal values and principles have a great influence while contributing in work
during health and social setting. According to my personal contribution while serving the
patients, I have experienced several life events but at the same time I would add that I need to
learn more as it is not sufficient while determining my experience. Further, I am always
concerned with the adequate fulfilment of my duties on professional grounds and the effective
help and support being served to the patients gives a significant life events (Pedler, 2011).
Moreover, my experience is highly beneficial for the development of my skills and abilities at
my personal as well as professional level. Furthermore, my culture and values implies that I need
to provide with the support for the individuals who are in trouble and the cultural norms has also
contributed for supporting the people which adds to my life events. I believe that the people
working in the health and social care should be highly responsible for their actions and the
environment.
3.3
I am working with an efficient health care organization, where they take several measures
to protect our rights and provide with the support when someone faces an accident or disease in
this life events. Further, they provide us with 10 lac as our accidental cover and moreover if
sudden death occurs they help our family by giving them an adequate amount by calculating the
number of years they have worked and the pay scale. Thus it provides a security to all the
employees working in the organization (Trede, Macklin and Bridges, 2012). Further, I duly
recommend the firm to give better working environment to the employees as they suffer there
personal life and attend the patients whenever required. Thus, they must be allowed to have their
social life as it becomes very important to be an active person in the community. Further, it can
be done by appointing the doctors or other service providers for the specific time frame.
Moreover, they must also provide with the medical cover for the employee as well as for his
family. This gives a person a sense of security.

In an organization, every person has its own role to be performed. Thus, my role,

To evaluate the effectiveness of personal and professional development plan care and
support model is an efficient tool for maintaining an appropriate level of relationship with both
the patients and the co workers. Further, it determines the significant presence of empathy which
assist me in resolving the conflicts which raised between the clients and the workers. A
consistent commitment is yet another requisite element with automatically helps to create a
cooperative culture of work (McSherry and Jamieson, 2011). Lastly, an appropriate level of

communication is also an important factor for aligning the words and action of a service
provider. Further, with the similar text there are two efficient models of medical and social care
with their effective features for giving assistance in determining the personal effectiveness while
serving in health and social care. The following models are been studied below:
 The medical model assists in explaining the special medicinal treatments where it also
helps in providing better options for conducting the research to frequently recover from
the worsened condition.
 The social care model exists with another concept of improvising the medicinal services
of the HSC firms that are specially given to the vulnerable groups of patients. It also
ensures high quality service for perfectly treating the diligent where they can easily
overcome the critical situations.
4.2
I need develop the and implement the HSC policy for rectifying the shortcomings and by
complying all the standards of CQC at the workplace. Thus for implementing this the following
elements must be taken into consideration:
 Open communication- I need to make sure that open communication is been adopted in
the organization so that the newly developed standards are being easily referred to every
stakeholder and decision is made by ensuring group efforts.
 Acceptance to change- I need to train all the staff members in the organization to accept
the change easily and work efficiently under it. If any technical equipment is been
launched, in that situation everyone must be in favour to adopt it and do their work with
developed efficiency (Griffiths and et.al., 2012).
3.3
For ensuring the health and safety needs of every person in the organization, I need to
make sure that the firm is providing with adequate working environment to the employees.
Further, the Health and Safety Act must also be adopted in the organization. Under this, it is
everyone's responsibility whether he is a employee or employer to maintain the adequate
workplace at in the HSC. Everyone has given with the rights to speak and take action against the
unhealthy working condition. Moreover, it also the foremost duty of the organization to meet the
basic requirements of the employees. It includes proper working environment, safe drinking
water, clean toilets, proper lighting facility etc. Further, they must also take several measures

which make sure the safety of every person in the organization. They must appoint an executive
which is responsible for checking the working environment on the regular basis (Currie and
Lockett, 2011).
1.2
By evaluating my communication skills from getting feedbacks from lower as well as
higher authority that I am efficient in my communication as well as interpersonal skills. It can be
concluded by the evidence, when I am offered for taking the seminars for the medical students or
the lower level practitioners they are wholly satisfied by my words and gives the feedback that I
was efficient enough in making their points clear because of good communication skills. I am
also effective enough while interacting with the people which assist in developing one to one
communication between the speech giver and the listeners (Bennett, 2010). Further, I come to
know that my communication skills are up to the mark and it is highly beneficial for the
organization to grow their business. Thus, for this I have taken several training so that I can
make up with the skills which are being required by the efficient practitioner. Further, it has
helped me to develop my communication skills and today I am efficient enough to take seminars
and workshops for the students and newly joined practitioners.
3.1
The organization must ensure all the standards of ICT software packages are being
updated on the regular basis. It includes that the equipments used in the medical care services
such as MRI machines, ECG tools etc. must be of adequate quality and should be updated by the
organization on the regular intervals. Further, in an health and social care there are several other
tools used under the ICT standards such as telephone which are highly beneficial for
communicating the information among the members of the organization. Further the latest
innovation named Southampton Hand Assessment Procedure which is used for developing
simulated diagnostic assessment of the patients. This has helped the organization to develop their
business and ensured the growth and success in the industry (Best and et.al., 2012).

my performance and different set of skills. This profession helped in correct identification of
patient's needs and so that I can give proper advices related to their health care. Hence, I use to
develop my work according to their needs. I have applied the approach of empathy here, so that I

can feel the pain of patient's pain and can identify the exact care according to which I want to be
treated. This thing helps me in keeping myself calm and in control and handling patient's with
proper care. I understand the sense of confidentiality that should be maintained in treating the
patients. So, I use to share the related information with my colleagues only if it is necessary. This
helps in building a faithful relationship between me and my patients and they share their
problems in right way (Towle and et.al., 2010). Besides this, sometimes I also have to face some
challenges when some patients are not ready to take some treatment. At that time I use to make
them assure about the treatment and its importance for them.

I am not efficient enough in working in partnership with others. Thus it has highly
affected my performance or work in the organization. As I am not able to coordinate with the
perceptions or views of others which becomes a problem as the patient may suffer. I am in the
habit of dominating my views on others which sometimes becomes and issue while I am working
with the higher level practitioners. As they are not working or adopting my views rather what
they think is right is been adopted (Gray-Stanley and Muramatsu, 2011). Thus, it becomes the
reason of conflict in the organization. Further, I must take several measures to overcome this
habit so that it becomes positive for the organization in the long run.
4.3
In favour to this, it can be said that the Belbin's team work theory is highly efficient in
reducing the issues related to the team work in HSC. Thus, with the help of this theory, the
organization can focus on different features of team which can accomplish task in better way.
The classification of team roles can be as plant, resource investigator, co-ordinator, shaper,
monitor, team worker, implementer, finisher and specialist. It will reduce the overall time
consumption regarding accomplishment of task.

4.4
In the present time, I am working as a practitioner in a HSC, and I have small team of
several specialist and health care professionals which provides number of health care services to
patients. In order to have better team work I must focus on betterment in teamwork skills so that
I am able to maintain proper coordination among the team (Buykx and et.al., 2010). I can also
share information about the professional issues with my colleagues in order to identify the way
to overcome issue. Moreover, I can also provide help in a better way within my team members
about the latest processes which are required to be implemented to achieve the goals and
objectives of the organization.
4.3
It is highly recommended for me to develop my teamwork skills so that I can provide my
team members with efficient leadership and highly coordinate with them so that the working of
the team becomes highly effective. Thus, for this, I need to join several camps or training
sessions which assist me in developing my skills and provide with high assistance to the team
members. This will directly benefit the company as they will have efficient practitioners to
perform in the organization (New developments in health and social care. 2015).
CONCLUSION
The present report concludes that as a general practitioner, it is necessary to develop the
overall personal and professional development. The needs and demands in health care sector can
be improved in appropriate way through the means of advanced technologies. Besides this, it is
necessary to undergo a general practice and training to increase the experience of real life work.

professional relationship with different members of hospital.
