remote operations in an
organization where people
belonging to different
geographical locations
function as part of the
same team through
electronic means of
communication.
With advancement in
technology, the popularity
of virtual teams is on the
rise (Lilian 2014).

ADVANTAGES OF VIRTUAL TEAMS
Virtual teams would lead to a
conglomeration of worldwide
talent under one roof, thus
increasing flow of knowledge
and quality of human
resources in the organization.
Such teams are flexible and
would reduce limitations
imposed by geographical
barriers.
Quality of interrelationships
within the team would
improve as well (Krumm et al.
2016).

CONCLUSION
To conclude, it can be said
that virtual teams can only
be successful if adequate
measures are taken to
manage and lead them
effectively.
Despite the various
challenges, virtual teams
could add a number of
benefits to the organization
since it is cost effective and
more sustainable in the
long run.
