INTRODUCTION
In every country, visitor attraction is important due to stimulating domestic tourism,
supporting the regeneration of areas and it also contribute to the local and national economy,
lastly it promote the cultural change as well. Therefore, in the same way, report main aim is to
describe the importance of visitor attraction points in travel and tourism industry and study will
describe different types of visitors attraction in various categories. Further, it also describe the
importance of different range of visitor attraction with the purpose and impact upon the growth
and report also explore visitor types, impact and their motivation of different visitor attraction.
Lastly, study will also assess the application of visitor management techniques and describe their
impact on the sustainability.
Activity 1
Different types of visitor attraction with specific categories
Visitor attraction is refer to those natural points, man-made construction which are
automatically attracted different tourist as well as local people too. Further, an attraction main
aim is to grab various type of visitor, so that they will come on holiday and enjoy at their best.
Therefore, there are various types of visitor attraction in London or at global level such that:
Natural Attraction: It Is the main source which grab attention of many tourist towards
them and it is created by nature. Many of them are made to protect their environment and
provide many facilities so that tourist who visit the place can enjoy the sites as well. Apart from
this, the natural attraction also provides the site for activity like, climbing, hill walking, mountain
biking and potholing (Oriade and Schofield, 2019). For example, Lake District which is also
known as Lakeland and it is famous for its lakes, forest and mountains.

Purpose Built: It is another attraction point which is built with the aim to attract wide
range of customers for that particular area. In these places, tourist also think that this points are
built with specific reason, so that people may have fun and enjoyed their holiday in this area. For
example, in UK there are so many places as leisure such as Alton Tower, which is an amusement
park in England and it also offer ten roller coaster rides and also offer different range of
accommodation as well as lodging options too.

Events as tourist attraction: It is another attraction point that grab attention of many
customers and they often arranged in order to raise the entreaty of attraction. It is also realized
that event considered as an important part for attracting tourist because it also brings a lot of
income that creates job as well as wealth for the particular area (Zamani-Farahani, van Niekerk
and Mathis, 2019). For example, Olympics in UK is one of the biggest event that attract millions
of tourist towards them and also help in the growth of the economy.
Heritage Attraction: It is another important attraction point which grab attention
because of its beauty and buildings and in UK, there are lot of heritage attraction points which
may be worship places, canals, historic properties etc. Basically these attraction are in place so
that people can gain an appreciation of past. For example, the Museum of Science which is built
in 1857 and attract more than 3 million tourist annually which includes students mostly. The
museum did not charge visitors for entrance and consider one of the major tourist attraction in
UK.

Describing three different visitor attractions
In London, there are different types of visitor attraction point and they all bring different
income for the growth of economy of the country. These are as mention below:
St. Paul's Cathedral: It is consider one of the most attracting point of UK which attract
wide range of tourist towards it because it sits on Ludgate Hill at the highest point of City and
also famous for its best art work with intricate mosaics. The interior art walls makes visitors
overjoyed and this attract wide range of visitors towards it. This was built in 1675 and its dome
are framed by the spires of Wren's City churches and also dominated the skyline for over 300
years (Rousseau, 2016). It also makes its contribution up to 25% for the growth of local area by
providing the tours to their students, further, this place also helps in sustaining English Choral
tradition which benefit to local area by involving all adults and then providing them better
educational experience as well. Therefore, it creates positive impact upon the growth of economy
by attracting thousands of visitors and the money collected form them is used by government.
British Museum: It is one of the most attracting building that grab attention of many
visitors through its human art and culture. At the time of British era, this is consider most income
generated place for the country because it was the first public national museum in a world.
Mostly, it is visited by the families and children because it has Rosetta Stone, Pantheon
sculptures and mummies that attract wide range of students. Most of the students are also visited
this place for the purpose of research and annually it attract millions of people (Hirst, 2017). The
British Museum also provide the scope with regard to adult learning that provides guided group
tours that develop skills.

As the data shows that from 2013 onwards, the number of visitors are increases and as a
result, it creates positive impact upon the growth of economy. Such that it attracts 6 millions
visitors from 2018-19 that clearly reflect that it contribute 1/4th part for the growth of economy.
London Eye: This attraction point is consider one of the tallest observation wheel and
also one of the most paid tourist attraction in UK. At the building is located in the centre of
London and also experience 360 degree view and also has 32 sealed capsules that weights 10
tonnes each and can easily carry 25 individual. Apart from this, London Eye also provide
different employment opportunity to local people so that they can set their stalls and generate
income as well. This clearly reflect that it makes an important contribution to the local area by
providing positive impact upon its social and economic factors. The place is consider tenth most
visited place in world and annually, the London Eye attract 3.75 million people and thus it shows
that it contributed highest part for the growth of national economy of the country (Lu, 2019). it
also provide employment opportunities therefore, it creates positive impact upon UK economy.

Describing the need and motivation of different visitors types for the range of visitor attractions
It is required that the tourist should be attracted to various tourist places by using the
different tactics. There lies a huge factors behind tourist motivation it can be intrinsic as well as
extrinsic.
Intrinsic motivation : Most of the tourist visit the tourist places in order to fulfil their
psychological needs such as performing, exploring novelty, self expression, self assurance,
competition, need for relaxation etc. this is the motivation through foreign visitors can attract
towards the destination places. Intrinsic motivation is highly required to gain the business
opportunity and attraction level of the other tourism.
Attitudes of tourist, values and beliefs and personality of tourist are some reasons behind the
intrinsic motivation to visit such place(Watson, 2019.).
Values or Beliefs : A values and beliefs of a person may affect the decision of an
individual regarding visiting a particular place. For example a person who has belief in god or
who is spiritual might prefer to visit place which is of spiritual importance.
Tourist perception : By observing, getting knowledge and listening about a particular place an
individual might get motivated to visit to a particular place.
Seasonal offers : Travellers love to visit new places where they explore their
adventurous tours and activities. For that, they also love to deal with new opportunities. They
love seasonal discounts and offers provides by the travel and tourism industry.
Extrinsic motivation : the other reasons which creates a motivation to visit a particular
tourist place is money, family and age, culture and social class, as well as market. These are
some reasons which result in motivation in tourist and accordingly create a need to visit
particular tourist place.
Place of origin : The place of origin of tourist also creates a huge impact on the motivation factor
of an individual. For example for a person who love adventure may prefer to visit place which is
full of adventure while a person who love nature may prefer place which is near to some hill,
beaches etc.
Culture and Social class : Suppose a family or friends of tourist has already visited a
place if the experience of a person is good than the person might spread the news and

information about the place which might motivate an individual to visit that place(Su, Huang and
Huang, 2018).
Market : One of the important reason which can affect tourism is change in market such
as change in value of currency, economic as well as political situation which can directly affect
the decision of an individual.
The above are some of the factors which create motivation among tourists.
For example a person who has interest in history or historical stories, ancient collection may love
to visit to British Museum. While a person who has interest in adventure and nature beauty may
love to visit to St. Paul's Cathedral.
Describing the positive and negative social, economical and environmental impact of visitor
attraction
Social impact : Social impact means an interaction between the culture background of particular
country or area, relationship between material goods, attitudes, behaviour and people.
Introduction of tourist to such areas can result in loss of culture or may result in preservation of
culture and cultural sites(Hirst, 2017).
Positive impact : It will result in improving quality of life, it may result in satisfaction of
physiological needs, it will also contribute to improve in understanding of different communities.
Negative impact : the negative impact or social impact can be language and culture effect,
negative change in values and customs, unwanted change in lifestyle etc.
Economic impact : The economic impact of visitors attraction is that it result in contributing to
employment, social stability and better services.
Positive impact : the positive economic impact of visitors attraction is that the increase in tourist
will result in increase in jobs, increase in wealth of area and higher quality of life.
The visitors attraction will enjoy positive impact if there is improvement in natural
environment such as national parks, waste treatment plants, etc.
Negative impact : The economics of tourism affects tourism business owner. It will result in
increase in cost of living, low wages, increase in price of lands and houses, increase in price of
goods and services.
Environmental impact : here environmental impact refers to impact which affects carrying
capacity of area, air quality, bodies of water, wildlife, natural phenomena and water table.
Tourist income may help to preserve area or historic building.

Positive impact : It will result in protection of selected natural environments, a clean industry
and it will also help in preservation of historic buildings.
Negative impact : the visitors generate waste such as solid waste and pollution such as noise ,
water and air pollution. Providing facilities and better services to tourist may result in loss of
landscape appearance.
Activity 3
Feasibility study
Assess market demand : British Museum which is located in UK is the most popular tourist
place of UK. In the last year the number of visitors which is visited the museum is about six
million. British museum is UK winner. It is the most visited museum of United Kingdom. It was
established in year 1753(Watson, 2019). It has a collection of over wide variety of ancient
collection thus making it reason for visitors attraction.
Competition which attraction faces : On the basis of total visits or the number of tourist who
visit the tourist places the competitors of British Museum are
The National gallery = visitors in number 6,416,724
South bank Centre = visitors in number 6,255,799
Tate Modern = visitors in number 5,785,427
Natural history Museum = visitors in number 5,388,072
Product and service development : A museum consists of collection of about eight million
objects which include Egyptian mummies, Parthenon sculptures and The Rosetta Stone. The
museum is associated with a ancient objects and exhibitions despite of the fact that the museum
has a wide collection of contemporary art.
Financial viability :
British museum generates about 7.8 million British pounds by doing trading activities
such as retail sales and corporate hires. While the fund raising income of museum is 23.3 million
British pounds as calculated between April 2017 to March 2018(British Museum, 2019).

Assessing the different visitor management strategies and the implications they have for
sustainable development.
Managing the effective supply of tourism opportunities can attract the number of visitors
at the destinations. Visitor management can impact the natural environment either in positive or
negative manner (Tools for visitor management, 2018). In order to manage the work of visitor
management there are given some Strategies for managing the visitor management:
Change the type of use and visitor behaviour : In order to protect the environment and
sustainability Manager should restrict and ban the damaging practices and encourage employees
or workers to upgrade the systematic development (D'Antonio and et.al., 2016). In order to
protect the environment London & Partners can prohibit overnight use, discourage prohibit
horses, prohibit pets. Also company can provides teaching practices for workers to know more
about the wilderness ethics.
Modify visitor expectations : Modification will help to analyse the different opportunity that
better understand the work challenging task. Company also required to inform visitors about the
appropriate wildness PA uses (Ioanna and George, 2019). Along with that, it makes that inform
about the destination conditions is the beneficial for the visitors to visit the place in to full
satisfaction manner. Apart from that it also unmanaged the working opportunity to better
understand the needs of the visitors attraction.
Reduce use of problem areas : Another strategy for the visitors management that helps to
protect the sustainability growth and positive environment in this tactics business required to
reduce the problems areas that might affect the environment. Such as London & Partners should
better focus on encouraging the business growth and effective management. It also helps to
locate facilities on durable sites. Visitor should prior inform to visitors about the problem areas
and what alternatives areas they can adopt (Wong McIntosh and Ryan, 2016). Besides, another
way that company could adopt that access to limited number of visitors. Along with that, it better
understand the opportunity and formulating the new ways for the visitors. Company can also
eliminating the facilities and attractions in problem areas in order to improve attraction level of
alternatives areas.
CONCLUSION
On the basis of above report it has been concluded about the importance of stimulating
domestic tourism. Besides, it also explained the different kinds of visitor attraction such as
natural attraction, purpose built, event tourist attraction, heritage attraction. Study also explored
about the different visitor attractions that better understand the opportunity for visitor
management to gain new opportunity and task. Overall, study focused on the visitors attraction in
order to explain more report also explained about the need and wants for the motivation of
visitors that helps to attract different kinds of visitors attraction. Further in the report explained
the market demand and the level of the competition increases the fees of the destination.
However the study explains the different kinds of strategies that organisation can adopt for
managing the visitor management along with sustaining the positive environment within the
area. Overall, study justified the importance of tourism in the development of economy.
