What is a gender role? Why are gender roles important to feminists? Gender role is considered to be the sex role which involves the encompassing of the different behavioral ranges and the attitudes. They are considered to be centered on the conceptions which are relevant to femininity and the masculinity. The specifications are related to substantially handle the cultures, where there are different ongoing debates about gender roles and variations (Crenshaw, 2018). The gender roles are considered to be socially constructed roles, behaviors, activities and attributes which is given to a society to consider about men and women. The gender roles refers to the cultural understanding with gender classification which is not same as gender identity. The major focus is on understanding that it aligned with the different categories that are being offered through the societal norms (Fleming, Colvin, Peacock, & Dworkin, 2016). The feminists claims that the gender role is mainly helpful for the serving of the uphold patriarchy and then place the boundaries that have been set upon the lives of women. The gender is constructed in a way that tend to undermine the status of the females and then put them at a disadvantage through their lives. The primary and the secondary socialization help in focusing over the interests of men as it links to the female self-worth and to the external beauty. The gender roles are important for the feminists as it helps in transforming the society in a much more equal and caring manner (Meyers, & Loken, 2015). It leads to less exploitation of the people and the resources. The women live through the overall change and the workplace is made in a more compatible manner with the unpaid work of caring. There are strategies about radical feminism that has been built for the coalitions and they have a chance of also impacting the mainstream politics.
