The main difference between IP layer and network access layer is that in IP layer, data
packets are assigned logical address and the network access layer sends data packets
according to logical addressing provided by the IP layer and this ensures that data packets are
sent to the required hosts of the network.
Therefore, IP layer and network access layer require different control information for
assigning address to the data packets and sending those data packets according to the
assigned IP address.
