INTRODUCTION
Work based experience refers with the real job scenario which supports students to gain
experience of real environment of industry and to perform in the live place. It is the area which
assists in personal and professional development of individual. It is the phase which can be
termed as non-stipendiary jobs in which students join any organization as an internship while
seeking higher education. In the modern corporate era most of the big firms recruit such
candidates those who are having good experience in the same field. Internship supports them to
gain additional skills and experience of employment so that in future persons can perform better
by using such knowledge. It develops competence among the candidates. Present report will
discuss the individual abilities to negotiate work experience (Burström and et.al, 2014).
Business constrains associated with cap industry will be illustrated in this assignment. In addition
to this report will illustrate my responsibilities being an administrative assistant and it will
produce a plan to meet objective through work experience.
TASK 1
1.1
Work experiment can be determined as taking chances for the opportunities that one get
over the work they perform. The consequence of this impact can be negative or positive. As per
the case, My career goal is to be the administration manger. I have five year experience in the
same field I have many option to work with other companies. ABC has the best opportunity for
me. I was working since nine years at the same post so having a long experience, I have targeted
to work in cab industry. I am much more interested to work in Addison Lee which is the London
based private taxi hiring company. I got the information from newspaper that there is a vacant
post and so I called up the organization and confirmed the vacancy. Then they asked me to mail
the resume and so used e-mail to sent by resume. I want to work as voluntary for two weeks in
the cited firm. While working in the previous company I noticed there organization is using the
previous technologies but there are number of new technologies which are now in use which are
giving optimistic outcome to the organizations. But this entity has given me good knowledge
about the management, operations etc. With this experience I can be more effective to achieve
my goal to be in the position of administration manager.

I have nine year experience working as administration assistant and currently I was
working as private hire driver, so I found that cap industry will be the best suitable for me and I
will be able to gain huge experience while working in the subsequent sector. Addison Lee is one
of the largest private company which offers cap facilities to customers. Currently cited firm is
operating more than 4000 vehicles and its annual revenue are approx £200m. In the April 2013
Addison Lee established the Redwing coaches business in UK. It works in several departments
and I was in the administrative section. Company was managing bits all department effectively,
all they were having good coordination between them. I always wanted to work with large
organization which has good experience so that I can gain much knowledge being associated
with this firm. There are many other competitors of the subsequent company but I have selected
Addison Lee, while working in the cited entity as voluntary, I gained much knowledge within 2
weeks about handling of customers and record management.
I have reviewed other business which are working in the same industry. But what
experience that I can get with working in the ABC ltd, that I can not get in any other
organization. After gathering all relevant informations I want to evaluate opportunities for me.
I have made direct coordination with supervisors which helped me to know about activities of
other department. As my role was to manage administrative work there, while working as
voluntary in the Addison Lee I searched for many other organizations in which are working in
cab industry but I found that Addison Lee is working well and its management of operations
process is quite impressive. As to explain the existing workplace environment, I can say that all
employees of the company are having good communication, drivers are having good knowledge
and experience they are very responsible towards their role and responsibilities. They monitor
their own performance, managers need not to supervise their work closely. Marketing and HR
department are working well, they are utilizing the resources of the entity effectively. This thing
supports firm in gaining huge profit and success. Nonetheless, HR managers are recruiting such

it is quit difficult to handle a team properly and to motivate that so that they coordinate well and
support each other. It will take approx three weeks to improve this skill in me.
Communication is major aspect because being an administrative assistant I have to
resolve quarries to them so it is very necessary that I coordinate well and listen their issue
properly. So for learning new languages so that I can improve my communication it will take
approx 2 months.

placement in cab industry. My previous colleagues and seniors have given positive response to
such organizations about my performance. They were satisfied with my working styles and
capabilities. It shows that I have acquired many skills which support me to perform well. Some
time due to lack heavy workload in season time, I got confuse which task needed to be done first.
So I became unable to deliver projects on time. So it was the evidence that I have poor time
management and stress management skills. That is why I failed to meet with the expectation of
consumers and to satisfy them (Work-based skills, and work experience. 2004). I was expecting
support from my seniors because it was heavy workload. Some of other reasons because of that
my performance got affected:

Self review method

I evaluated my quality of performance by using self review technique. By this way I
analysed strong points and weak parts of my performance. By this way I realized that I need to
manage my work in proper way so that I can enhance my performance.
Feed back from previous seniors
I can evaluate my performance by taking timely feedback from friends, previous
colleagues etc. By this way I got to know several areas in which I need strong improvement
(O'Grady, 2014).
Attending training programs
I can join seminars and training programs so that I can realize the gap between existing
performance and expected one.
Achievements
I can evaluate my quality of performance by looking upon my achievement, if I got
positive review from my colleagues, it is great achievement for me. My senior have given me
incentives for my good performance thus, it shows that my quality of work for cab industry is
quit well (Sandoff and et.al, 2016).
4.3
It was my experience and personal feeling that I have learned so many things. I noticed
that graph of learning has been increased too much. It is quite in positive direction. There are
several aspects which I got to know about these:
 I have learned about quality management, earlier I was having only theoretical
knowledge but while working nine years in cab industry I got to know that quality of
work is very important.
 I have learned various ways of organizing training programs in the workplace. Though I
was having experience of organizing parties in college but in organization how to
conduct professional training I was having lack of knowledge about it. I have learned
several ways on it.
 I personally feel that interpersonal and communication skills are very necessary for
performing well in the workplace. I have improved my communication skill to great
extent (Hollensen, 2015).
 I have learned about preparing time scale for each task so that each activity can be
completed on time. I have improved my time management skills, as earlier I was

performing well but in heavy workload period some time I became unable to meet
deadline of he project. But by gaining good experience and knowledge I have learned
about managing task properly (Work-based skills, and work experience. 2004).
4.4
I have noticed that I have good experience but somehow some things are lacking in me
which are essential to improve so that work experience can be enhanced. There are several
recommendations in this respect: I am weak in strategic leadership and time management. So I
need to attend some more professional camps so that I can manage alternative work effectively. I
need to review timely to my each performance so that I can know about my lacking points and
can work upon those to improve it (Youth in Action! - Participating in Internships and Work-
Based Experiences. 201).
I should take expert advice so that I can know about expected performance of cab
industry for the post of administrative assistant. I will be able to fill the gap between current and
future requirements effectively.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded that prioritization of tasks are very necessary,
by this way individual will be able to perform its responsibilities effectively. By managing work
and to submit on time, person ill be able to gain good achievements. Report has discussed about
roles and responsibility of administrative assistant, so individual needs to focus on its duties and
have to put its best efforts to grow well in the cap industry. Customer satisfaction is the main
objective of Addison Lee so for working well in the firm, ABC is required to improve its
communication and problem resolving skills so that individual listen properly first the quarry of
the customer and then make them satisfy buy giving good suggestions.
