In present time, there are ample of opportunities in hospitality and tourism industry. It
provides significant opportunities to the individuals to ensure career growth in future period of
time (Dahl, 2018). In the present scenario, Ritz London has been selected as a company. It is a
well-known organization of hospitality industry. It is a five star hotel of London which was
opened in the year of 1906. It is consider as one of the luxurious and prestigious hotel across the
globe. It has nearly 136 rooms and suited to offer the best possible facilities to the customers. I
am working as a front desk managers within the company where I am responsible to interact the
customers primarily when they enter into the hotel. I have good communication, presentation
skills with an effective personality. These skills and abilities make me a perfect fit for the
position. Being a front desk manager, I need to interact with several people. Here, my
interpersonal skills help in interaction with different individuals profoundly. The report will
cover personal development log along with plan of future development and reflective essay

work environment. The most common types of work based learning are apprenticeship, job
training, internship and more. It is basically an educational method that helps students in growth
by learning about the environment in which they will work in future period of time (Hughes and
Saieva, 2019). With this, one gets the real life work based experience that help in working the
actual environment in future. Also, it is crucial for self development as it provides opportunity to
a person to develop various skills and capabilities to attain growth in future career. This provides
professional experience that is important to work in professional context and employability.
In the present context, I am working as a front desk manager within a reputated company.
While working on the respective profile, I got opportunity to develop ample of skills that will
help me to grow in future career. Through the PDP analysis, it is found that I am lacking in
certain areas. During my job, I got opportunity to work on my weak areas to make further
improvements. Here, I worked on decision making, time management and technical proficiency.
My job helped me in improving these areas so that I can grow within hospitality industry in
future. Apart from this, I also develop numerous additional skills during my job which are
