INTRODUCTION
In general, skill development is the process if improving the activities which can be
useful for an individual to obtain a higher growth in the academic session or employment
industry as well. Skill and knowledge play a vital role in every human life. Developing the
knowledge can be useful in graduations and even at professional level(Li, Negnevitsky, and
Wang, 2020). The report is illustrating the concept of requirements and importance of skills in an
education and organizational life. Along with this, the report will demonstrate the reflective
journal in which a model SWOT analysis and progression opportunities will be performed to
explain the value of the skills for a better understanding.
MAIN BODY
Here, performing a reflection of the key objectives which will elaborate the concepts of
competencies, career prospects and opportunities that will enable to understand the
responsibilities in an organization in the purpose of skill development. The skill development
programs are organized to identify the internal knowledge and ability of a youth generation from
which they can be a successful person in a career objective. Education and skills both are equally
important for an individual as both activities will define and decide the future plans. Swot
analysis is a tool which includes strength, weakness, opportunities and threat of a human or an
organization. With the help of model SWOT analysis, here describing my reflection on the skills
which will help me in the future plan and describing this analysis in a model form to understand
in the better way.(de los Santos, and Zanca, 2018).
Swot Analysis in reflection mode.
Strength : The strength factor introduces the power and ability of a person which can be in any
department. In general, it can be said as knowledge is a power from which anything can
understood and can get a fruitful result in any department. As I am quite good at learning I
believe that it is my strength. When I was in my educational academy I used to participate in the
debate functions and activities from which I am able to learn and speak clearly and meaningful. I
would like to communicate with people and for this I always listen to people and my tutor at
academic sessions. This learning skills helps me to perform and look motivated and courageous
from which people had a trust and believe in me. Listening the speeches actively at debate and
even in classes helps me to improve my verbal connections from which now I am so blissful that
I am able to learn and talk with anybody in the confident manner. Along with this, active

learning ability aids me to perform well in the examinations and supports me to obtain an
excellent result. I also consider that this skill will help me in the future and career plans in
employment and for better growth in any structure.
Weakness : The second factor describes the term weakness which refers as a knowledge and
ability which has to be improved and increased for the better approach. It also includes the
challenges, which an individual has to deal with in the respectful manner(Stoller, 2021). Looking
at my weakness, I accept that I am bad at communication which is a huge challenge and obstacle
for me in the future existence. I needed to improve my communication skills which can be very
effective and useful in my career plans. It is known that I am great at learning but looking at
professional level I also needed to improve the communication skills so that I can be able to
express my thoughts and suggestions to the people. Being good at communication I required to
focus and required active listening so that I can obtain an effectiveness in the activity. Improving
the communication will help me to make a relation with people at organization and will display a
positive and fair attitude of me(Harish, 2020). I can make notes and can speak in front of the
mirror so that I will feel comfortable and motivated to speak.
Opportunity : The opportunity defines as a chance and possibility which has been given and
taken to express their knowledge and skills in the effective mode. When I was in my academics,
I got an opportunity to express myself by making a presentation which has to be explained in
front of the class. My tutor believes in me and selected me for this activity. I feel blissful that my
teacher has a given me chance to prove myself. As I was good at learning I started to research
and learn about the topic which has to be presented but now it was a challenge for me to display
the presentation in front of class and as it already known that I am weak at communication which
leads me to feel nervous(Pant, 2019). I improved my communication skills and tried to connect
with my mates so that they can help me in the presentation. My mates were ready and responded
kind so that I can be able to prepare the presentation and able to exhibit in the front of the class. I
am so glad that my tutor gives me an opportunity in which I was able to learn and improve my
communication skills which will also be beneficial for me in the future plans at the employment.
Threat : Threat determines the risk and issue in achieving the targets and goals. At first when I
was not able to communicate with people it makes an issue for me to complete the assignment
and exhibit in font of the class. I felt nervous because I always thought that my mates and other
people will not respond good at me and created a self thought if being judged by them. I got

difficulty in communicating with the people but later on I tried and succeed but looking at
professional level, lack of communication skills is defiantly a risk factor for me in the future
existence(Ting, and et.al., 2017). Some mates also tried to pull me back and created a trouble for
me to make a presentation but, I was successful to make it. In the future, I needed to improve my
communication skills as it will only makes me to lead and look confident so that I can make a
good relationship with people. By improving these skills I can drive my future at successful
position.
Career Prospects
According to the competencies, I would like to go with the employability in the field of human
resource department which is suitable of my skills. Improving the communication skills I can be
able to go with the HR management course and employment. HR department is the group of
people where they are responsible for balancing the entire organization and employee
satisfaction. This management also helps to increase the growth and development of a business
occupation(Rochman, 2021). A career in this field could be rewarding and challenging at the
same duration. A role of HR manager requires a proper planning at needed to set a goal
accordingly. At first, I am responsible to evaluate myself and understand the qualities and
abilities which are in me and what skills needed to increase and enhance in what duration.
Setting a short, medium and long term goals can help me to be an HR manager. Here, discussing
each three goals in detailed form.
Short term : Being a successful HR manager require some activities to be performed by setting
the targets. HR management has duty of recruiting and retaining the people for an organization
with the suitable skills. My short terms goals are to improve the researching skills from which I
can be able to identify and search for the people who are appropriate for the particular job role.
Researching and finding skills can makes me to approach people(Lubis, Asnawi, and et.al.,
2020). Improving this skill I needed to be available on various platforms and sources from where
I can get maximum information of an individual. I will also take the advantage of the libraries to
get sufficient knowledge about driving a management in a successful position.
Medium term : In medium term goals, I would like to improve my communication skills. I am
quite good at this skill but working in a professional level I required more improvement in
communicating with people. This goal will help me to connect with people and employee in an
organization. HR manager is responsible for solving any issues and obstacle of the individual. I

aid to focus on my communication as when a person is comfortable to talk and share then only I
can solve their obstacle and by communicating and making a good relationship with employee
will make them to feel comfortable(Desai, 2019). I can enhance my skill by making the notes
and practising. I can also increase my ability my participating in the public functions where I can
communicate with different communities and increase my knowledge as well.
Long term : My long term goal is to focus and increase the critical thinking. Intelligence is
required in the field of HR management to evaluate the performance of the employee. This skill
takes time to follow and apply as it is quite difficult to understand the people thoughts and body
languages. An HR has a duty of identifying the employee performance which required a critical
thinking to be improved. I need to increase my critical thinking so that I can analyse the
employee difficulty and reason of people who are demotivated.
Progression Opportunities
The progression activities will describe the advantage and barriers of the skill to become a
successful at selective career pathway(Kleckner, and Butz, 2021). Performing both actions below
in the understanding manner.
Barrier : It is already known that lack of communication skills can be a barrier for me in the
future career. Being an HR manager, it is important to develop my skills. Because of lack of
communication I will not be able to understand the obstacles of the person working in a company
and can lead the to suffer from stress. Communication helps to make a good relation and
understanding between the people so that they can feel satisfied and comfortable to share
anything. Lack of this skill will drive me to create a bad performance level and also not capable
to manage the company at the best level.
Advantage : Looking at advantage, I can manage the organization and can get a result in the
effective manner. A good communication skill will define me to talk and speech in the confident
manner and seek the deals in the effective approach. When so ever I deliver a message or speech,
it will express my knowledge and strength so that people will have a feeling of trust and believe
in me. Active listening can build me to approach people to share their suggestions and obstacles
in a comfortable zone(Soekardi, Indrawati, and et.al., 2020). A body language is also a part of
good communication skills from which it will let people know and understand the speech in the
meaningful manner. A communication can help a person in the career plan and also supports to
make a good relationship with the people at the surrounding.

CONCLUSION
In this report, it has been concluded that an individual needs to follow and enhance the skill
which can be very effective in their career plan. Some skills have been mentioned from which a
person can grow in the different way. The report is also described the swot analysis in a
reflective pattern from which it could be understandable in a better style. Apart from this, the
article is also explaining the functions of the chosen career path including its challenges, barriers
and advantages. The report is ensuring the importance of the skills at the personal and
professional level as well. It can be useful in many purposes and supports in the future existence.
