Workplace Discrimination Concept - PDF_1

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY This report stated about the workplace discrimination concept. The workplacediscrimination happens when an employee is treated in unfavourable manner due to skin colourdisability gender, religion and many other basis. For conducting this investigation, various toolsand techniques has been applied through an investigator. In this, literature review is consideredas main part of research that has been done by determining the opinions and view points ofdifferent authors on the workplace discrimination and its impact on the employees performancein negative manner. Researcher methodology has been conducted for collecting the accurate andreliable informations. For completing this investigation, different components has beenconsidered such as qualitative method, interpretivism philosophy, inductive approach, primaryand secondary data collection methods and many others. All are helpful in conducting aninvestigation in systematic manner and getting positive outcomes effectively. In this, data hasbeen analysed by developing themes and graphs. In the last section of research, reflection andalternative research methodology has been done. In this, researcher analyse its personalexperience during conducting research.

Topic: Impact of Workplace Discrimination on Employee Performance. METHODOLOGYMethodology is related to conceptual frameworks that provide data about various techniquesthat could be used to conduct research on the grounds of acceptable ethics. This section speaksto learner about different strategies and is used for fair reason by them (Cleveland, Vescio andBarnes-Farrell, 2013). The major reason for conducting this research methodology is to test the accuracy of the strategies used in carrying outthis inquiry. It justify different tools which are used to gather relevant information in particularresearch field. Methodology is a systematic way and there is theoretical analysis which areapplied to a particular field. There are different types of theoretical analysis which can be usedby the researcher so that research is successfully initiated and completed . This method is alosvery helpful in obtaining the desired outcomes. Methodology is a section which is very helpfulfor the researcher and also reader so that they can critically evaluate the reliability and overallvalidity of the collected and analysed form of data. Type of InvestigationResearch Philosophy: It provides various information related to the manner or way in which datashould be collected and its evaluation should be done. This evaluation is necessary forachievement of overall set objectives of research. There are basically two types, positivismand inetrpretivism in this interpretivism focuses towards interpreting the whole data basedon qualitative measures. Positivism philosophy focuses towards applying various scientificmethods which consists of whole quantitative forma of data. To perform this investigationinterpretivism is going to be used so that researcher could collect qualitative informationand research can be successfully initiated and completed. Research Approach: This approach has two approaches which are deductive and inductive. Inthe deductive approach existing theory is used for comparison of hypothesis for the purpose ofconducting investigation. On the other side is the inductive approach in which new theories areproposed and developed. Such new theories are used to support various observations and usefultest. In this research work researcher will be using the inductive approach this Approach is mostsuitable in this research work. the reason is that there is qualitative form of data being used and1

inductive approach consider this form of data only, which will make it simple for the researcherto draw useful conclusions. Data Collection: There re basically two methods which are used for collection of data that isprimary method and secondary method. Both the methods are discussed below:Primary method:This is the method of collecting data which is used by the researcherwhere there is collection of fresh data and and not from any existing source. Here data iscollected using various sources such as focus groups, direct interviews, questionnaire, surveysand many other methods which can be used by them to collect relevant data related to theirresearch work. This is most reliable method of collecting data as data collected through thissource is very authentic as it has not been extracted from anywhere by the investigator iscollected by the researcher himself. There are various other methods also which can be used byresearcher one such method is also Delphi technique and other projective techniques. Secondary Method: secondary method is used by the researcher in which already existinginformation is used by researcher. There are various methods which can be used by them tocollect information from various published sources. Such areas from where secondary data canbe collected are articles, books, newspaper articles, journals, governmental publications andmany others. In this investigation primary information is gathered from such sources. In this investigation researcher will be using both methods for conducting of researchthat is quantitative and qualitative. Primary form of collecting data is questionnaire andsecondary method will be used in form of questionnaire for the purpose of collecting data. 2

Sample Size: It can be defined as a process in which a particular set of respondents are selectedso that they are able to represent the whole set of population. There are basically twomethods which can be used by researcher is never possible to use the whole population forconducting the research so for making it feasible researcher always selects a particularsample drawn from the population. This also helps researcher in saving of time and this isalso a very cost effective method which is used for conducting the research by theresearcher. There are two methods of sampling such as probabilistic sampling and nonprobabilistic sampling. In probabilistic sampling, researcher is free in selecting therespondents according to his view, which means there is no specific criteria which isapplied while selecting the respondents. On the other hand non probabilistic sampling isone in which data is collected by the researcher in a way that there are some special criteriabeing followed to select a sample. In this research work researcher has used probabilistic sampling method of collecting ofdata from the sample size there is no specific criteria which have been applied by the researcherin selecting the sample size. There is a sample size of 40 respondent Which are used by theresearcher in this research work. 3
